Hi from CatholicCritters
-
I'm trying this game out to see if it'll fill my need to do horse-related things without boring me or costing $$. My hubby is all for it because I'm a danger to myself right now around our real-live horse because of unknown medical issues.
I'm the mother of 2 living children. We own 3 dogs (in the house), 1 cat, 1 horse, and 1 sheep. Our horse is a Curly--hypoallergenic so my daughter can be around her. The sheep is our horse's 'pet' because she hated being an only horse. Currently the horse is in need of more training before my 7 year old (or even I) can ride her. Her name is Starlie and as a weanling she was found in a trailer headed for a slaughter sale because of a knee injury. Someone rescued her and the vet had to partially fuse her knee. She is now 7 and vet-check sound for riding and driving, but since she has spent much of her life as a pet, not a using horse, she doesn't get the idea of being a riding or driving horse.
I've owned and ridden horses for all of my 36 years. I've even bred, raised, and trained my own horses. I've done everything from trail riding, Western Pleasure, Western gaming events (barrels, poles, and flags), jumping, dressage, and driving. I've had QHs, Arabians, Saddlebreds, Haflingers, Shetlands, Belgians, Curlys, and probably more. My favorite discipline is driving because it is something I can share with my non-horsey husband. My favorite breed right now is the American Curly because they come in so many different types--stock horses, hunt horses, dressage horses, driving horses, draft horses, and even saddleseat horses.
I have a BS in Biology (Molecular Option) that was heavy in genetics and biochemistry. I am an avid reader of science books (non-fiction) as well as scientific journals. I am a former Forensic Biologist for the state police. Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom that homeschools her 2 children. I've survived breast cancer while pregnant (my 7 year old daughter is my chemo baby). I'm cancer-free, but keep finding new gifts that my treatment gave me--nerve damage in my neck and arms, ever-increasing migraines, neuropathy in my hands and feet, etc. That's why I'm no longer allowed by my husband to work with the horse. Most recently I've been randomly passing out and the doctors have no idea what could be wrong with me.
I'm hoping this game will be a diversion from my craptastic health. -
