I was putting some tack on my horses when I noticed my boy Protege has a pearl gene. He's my first horse with the gene, so I'm excited! I'm hoping to breed him to some cream girls, and if I'm lucky, a pearl genes mare! (If the herd helper gives me another one!)

He looks good in the purple colour. I like his height as well. Hope he gives you lovely babies, will you have straws available for him ? :)

@Supersarah, I don't think free accounts can do straws? But hopefully I can save up enough to upgrade, and I'll likely offer a few straws then. :)

@kintara, nope, they never had one. Not sure if its a bug or intentional. All the bug reports on it are 'closed'.

Those discussions were closed because this is a 1 time Herd Helper celebrating the 11th anniversary of HaJ1, and it will never be offered again. In addition, trying to program a tattoo retroactively would be impossible, in practical terms, considering how many shares were offered--one to each player account in the game--and the fact that some of the resulting horses have changed hands.

At least, that's my estimate of the reason.

The Nanotech studs have the tattoo on HJ1 though, which is what seems strange to me. I wonder what happened to the tattoos on HJ2. It'd be really nice if we got a tattoo for them so we have some way of identifying them as Rank Specials and so we could search for them more easily. It's not the end of the world if they don't get a tattoo but it would be more convenient if they did.

I know Ammit wasn't able to fix the bug with the Yule Log Ashes (I think that's the right one) when they were born without one of their white genes because some of those horses had already been bred, already GMTd with other things etc. But tattoos can be added or removed at any point in a horse's life no matter how many foals it has, so I'm hoping it might be possible for them to get a tattoo at some point, even if that doesn't happen for a while.
