im very confused
  • I'm wondering why there are like 5 different RS horses in public sales for 200k and they are not being voted down I put a 2nd gen chocolate palomino pearl stud who was superior in sales for 15k and mine got voted down.. 200k just seems like a lot I have never seen a horse for sale for that much for so long they are not even GMTed. sorry if this message is out of line but I think they need to be voted down right? I know if I was to put horses up for that much they would be voted down lol :-))
  • Actually you'll notice that RS horses (particularly ones who can still be GMTed) have been going for that much or even more lately.
Rank Specials tend to be worth more than other foundations even with similar genes. And lined horses are, in my experience, almost always worth less than similar foundations because many people like to keep their lines entirely homebred.
Take a look at some of the forum auctions for RS horses this week and you'll notice that 200k isn't all that unusual

  • Mind you, it also depends on which RS they are. Some, like Nanotech Primer and The Diamond Age, are more sought after because they're 1 time only, so they go for more than more common RS. Some RS are also just more popular and thus more expensive.
  • The only horse for 15k voted down I see was way back in February.

Also the price of a RS is in no way related to the price of a 2nd gen. The price of limited edition collectors item is not the same as a thing anyone can produce.

  • A 2nd gen chocolate palomino pearl horse is generally worth the same as any other 2nd gen horse, unless they have some LE genes.

  • A DP pearl with good papers is not worth the same as any other second gen. Voting it down at 15k was kinda shitty to be honest. But again that is old drama and should be left alone.

  • The RS horses that can still be GMTd and the one time RS horses like Nanotech are worth a lot more than some of the other ones. That being said, most of the horses that were up for 200k each were 7/8 year old stallions that weren't limited edition RS and many of them weren't even exceptional producers. Nearly all of them were voted down and the owner has re-listed them for 100k each, so that's a good example of how voting down horses can help correct their sales price without having to say anything to the owner.
  • sorry I'm fairly new I wanted to put them up but not end up losing out if they were actually worth a lot more...
  • That's exactly what the voting option is for, to help people figure out the correct price for a horse. :)

  • Yep nothing to be sorry about. You are totally fine Katierra.

  • ...and some of them sold, didn't they, Katierra? (I don't remember!) So you weren't off base by much!
