Make sure you've selected a horse to change and that horse meets all the criteria--foundation, 4 or younger, no living offspring. Once you select your horse, you will enter the page and it will set itself for that specific horse.

On the Gene Modification page, you will see two buttons for each gene, one for each allele the horse already owns. (So, for example, if your horse is E e, you will see a button for E and a button for e.)

Click whichever allele or whichever gene you want to change. You will be taken back to the top of the page and see the genes you can exchange that allele for and what it will cost. Click on the appropriate button for the change you want to make.
