Showing Bonus
-
I'm trying to build up my number of show horses in order to eventually get a decent daily showing bonus (it was 380hbs and near 450hbs today yesterday), so I was wondering how many show horses do you have and how much do you make a day?

It takes a while to get up there but when you can start holding onto horses it really wracks up quickly.
I currently have 775 show horses and am a touch under 30k per day in showing bonus :)#4519 -
It takes a bit. But buy barns when you can and fill them with show ponies. Keep an eye on the auctions there are always horses with some points in there. And also look at the sales pages!
Keep in mind Ive been playing for about a year and a half.
I have 2,188 horses atm. All of my horses are show horses except for the girls that are in pastures. But in total for altered horses I have 1,042. My show bonus is almost 73k a day. -
How do you keep track of 2,000 horses? lol. I'm loosing track of where some horses are and I've only gotten up to a few 100.
-
@Skylight, same and I've only got just over 200, about 150 of them are snipped for my show horses though, I've gone from 399 to 464 today and I've only just started building my show team, I bought a 60 horse barn with IVs for my show team and my main 82 stall barn is full of predominantly snipped show horses.21170 ~ Breeder of quality Liver Chestnut and Chocolate Palomino riding horses and ponies with unique twists. I suppose you just get used to managing them haha. If you include my breedable horses I'm at 1.3k horses. I don't really look at my showing horses more than once or twice a month to check for any who are really crap at showing.
Breedable ones, most are in pasture but I alternate which ones are in and out. I've only got 4 pastures so I've only got foundation, ex-pro foundatins, 2g and 3g mares in pasture at the moment. I've also got 4g, 5g and 6g girls who need to go into pasture at some point. Depending on how much I can be bothered to hand breed I'll probably put them up for brood.#4519 -
I have a total of 2239; 1195 are neutered.
I have 676,810 points, and my daily showing bonus this morning is 72,515 hb's.
To answer your question about keeping track, Starlight, I don't keep track of them. I have a Premium upgrade, which automatically shows all horses not in the Primary Barn or pastures; it automatically trains them, too. I have quite a few horses in pastures and most pastures do have a stallion in them. I am WAY behind in naming offspring, however, not to mention the as yet unnamed created horses. I do run all foals through all the testing, but not all the colts have been compared to their best brothers. My showing bonus is high enough not to worry about any horses that leveled off at the bottom of their classes.
In fact, my showing bonus is high enough that unless I have been doing a lot of GMTing or have just generously gifted hajibucks to someone who really needs them, I have to keep a careful eye on the total bank balance so it doesn't creep up over 9,999,999.
What I spend a lot of time doing is checking the forum for new players asking questions that I can answer, and helping out some of those in need. I get as much enjoyment doing that as I do breeding my intact stock.
I love this game and how much I have learned about horse color genetics playing it. I love the community Ammit has fostered, and, since teaching is my primary gift, I love passing on what I have learned to other players.
As people are frequently saying, there is no one correct way to play the game, and this is mine.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

@Skylight, you don't keep track of them lol. The spays and gelds get tossed into a barn on auto show and forgotten about. I don't care if they are poor showers or have placed badly in a few shows, I don't even look. I spend my time on my breeders.

I have 1099 horses, of which 816 are strictly show horses. My bonus this morning was 50,998. I do not manage really, I just show them. Breeding stock gets shown as well unless they are in the pasture.
-
I have 145 altered horses and they make me 4647 a day. A large chunk of foals are young though. It was up to 5000 until I lost both of my adopt horses in one go. And also I have been clearing ones out with lower PTs.
Pretty much all of my horses regardless of gender get showed 2x a weekBreeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
I agree with the statement that everything in a barn gets shown. However, I have barns exclusive for my spayed or gelded horses of which I have approximately 1200.
My show bonus is approximately 60k a day. I have played for a year and a half.
Initially, I was a mass breeder that would sell all the unwanted foals but this included doing binges of creates to purposefully sell foals, and I figured out, after eight months, that this technique wasn't for me because I kept a lot of the foals that I was supposed to sell to auction. After that, I had a huge loss of profit because I wasn't getting my auction "bonus" and it has taken almost a year to get my daily show bonus up to where its at.
To try to catch up, I would use my Sunday allowance to purchase an IV (basic get 12.5 right? I can't remember. And premium get 25k). Then I would purchase every other barn for show horses or breeding horses. After 15/30 IVs, I would purchase a show barn. Then the next IVs would be spent on breeding horses. This way I forced myself to pick only the best quality breeding horses because of limited barn space. -
I show all of my horses in my barns. So I have a total of 1631 horses (915 being show horses) and 1334 of them show every week. I make 27,570 hbs daily for my bonus :) And I have been playing for 2.5 years

I'm currently up to 420 exclusive show horses. I show more horses than that because none of my stallions are kept in pasture and all my up and coming breeders get shown as well. Currently my show bonus is around 10,327hbs. The way I do it is I sell 50 altered foals which pays for the IV's to buy a 30 stall barn every season to add to my show barns. This season I just bought show barn 9. I fill it with 30 altered foals and the rest of my altered foals go to help pay for the breeding and testing of all the different herds I keep. I can do it this way because I keep so many herds going at the same time that 50 foals is nothing. I still have plenty to fill the show barn and tons more to auction off and buy more barns if I need them or other things as well. It keeps me at a steady growing pace and also spreads out the ages of my showing herd so that hopefully nest season will be the last time I stand to loose over half my showing bonus.

Admittedly AtA is a different beastie, but I thought you guys might be interested in the stats!
AtA owns 1789 horses (spayed/gelded), 27 mares and stallions, and has a nightly bonus of 223,100 hbs. The account started in February, this year, and Cheers donated about 2500 horses, plus a bunch of other players donated horses, and barns. I have three 1000 stall barns, one 60 stall barn, and one 30 stall barn, plus the 15 stall Welcome pack barn. Ammit donated the premium upgrade, so the barns all are set on auto show.
I don't pay a BIT of attention to who is showing when, or where! It's basically on autopilot. I just stop by to read the mail and send a few ponies to new homes every now and then! -
I just filled my first 1000 stall barn up with show ponies. I'm well and truly back, y'all!
I own 1300 show ponies and (gulp) 700 intact. The vast majority of my show ponies are 6 and younger, so my bonus is pretty piddly at 5k/night but as they level up, it will start to grow big time. -
I have about 360 show ponies out of 850 horses, total. I admit, I've a bit of a pasture-mare hoarding problem! I've only been playing since March but I just passed 5100hbs. It felt like it took a while to get there, but it's starting to creep up steadily!

Out of my 844 total horses (so far) 429 are show horses and I make 21k a day. A lot of my points come from my breeding stock as well though----
