Ones anyone now what these darker spots are called

They are corn spots. They occur on some roans as part of the image generation (as opposed to having a genetic cause).I was jllewis on the old forum.

In real life they are caused by the horse having some sort of damage done to that part of the skin, from then on it doesn't turn roan.
