Need some input on a tattoo
-
I've been working on this for awhile. This is my pearl tattoo. Hopefully if there are any LOTR and Hobbit fans out there you can guess what this is. It just looks like its missing something. Maybe color? I don't know. Give me your thoughts.
WO1 The Kings Jewel -
I've been a LOTR and Hobbit fan since I was still in school (that is, for many, many decades) but I'm more familiar with the books than the movies.
Personally, I really like your design. It's very elegant. You might need a light colored version to put on dark horses, though. Either that, or an adjustment to the transparency.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I was thinking maybe some shade of green because of the color of the throne but currently I don't have any dark prl horses to try it out on. What do you think about a shade of green for the background?
-
I think giving it a colored background would make it look more like a stamp than a tattoo. The right shade of green might work for the lines, but I found, with my first tattoo in HaJ1, that some shades of green look extremely fuzzy on darker chestnuts and bays, especially the bays. I outlined my stable tattoo with a white to make it show up at all legibly on those horses, and it's still less distinct there.
The elegant simplicity of the lines on this tattoo really make it outstanding, to me, and messing with them by backgrounds and alternate color tracings would disturb that. You could try out various green shades on different colored horses, even if they weren't pearl, to make sure which one would work best. That can be expensive, but I've always found it worth the cost of removing tattoos frequently, so that I have something that looks good on a variety of colors.De gustibus non disputandum. Here's what my HaJ1 stable tattoo looks like on bay. This is not the shade of green you need. *G*

Thank you for the help :) Now I wonder if anyone will know what it is rofl

I expect there are some younger LOTR fans in the game. It may just take them a while longer to happen on this thread. :D
I'm glad my advice helped.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I love Lord of the rings, it's been a while since I've watched the movies, does it have to do with the elves?!Celestial Performance Horses

I knew what it was immediately! Or at least I think I did. It's the Arkenstone, isn't it? (Naming your stallion The Kings Jewel did help)

Lol that's what I get for only watching the first one lol♡ ID #23495 ♡

It has to do with the Arkenstone. It's the symbol on Thror's throne that the Arkenstone sits in the middle of :)

When you said green throne I immediately thought of the elves since th only other green things are the ents and the hobbits and they don't have thrones so lol very nice tat though it's gorgeous :)Celestial Performance Horses
