Burghley Horse Trials! (CCI4*)
-
Wondering if anybody else is heading to Burghley this week? I'm doing the Friday (second day of Dressage) and the Saturday for the Cross Country :D Not my first Burghley, but my first time on Cross Country day.. and it's proving hard to choose a good spot to watch from.
Particularly looking forward to seeing Leonidas II in action (and Mark Todd by default). Does anybody else go to these events looking forward to seeing certain horses, rather than their riders? :)) (Not to mention the shopping! :x )ID #31100 -
Lucky you! I have never been to any 3 day event, but I hope to make it to Kentucky or Tryon one day. I just have to figure out how to convince my husband one of those two places would be perfect for a family vacation : )

I'm not going, (ploughing matches are more my thing), but i hope you have a brilliant day out, and don't forget your camera!

I live near Chatsworth in Derbyshire and always go to the eventing there. It's a 3 star with a special invitation 4 star. The year before last I remember following Chilli Morning around! Love cross country day :) I have always fancied Burghley or maybe Badminton - will try to go next year!
PS I go to watch not compete - lol - I wish! -
Ah I always wish I could've seen Chilli in action! I recommend Burghley, I go almost every year but usually one of the Dressage days or the show jumping. Will be doing the cross country again though - amazing day! I have so many photos :))
Got to see the lovely Leonidas II - they unfortunately parted company later in the day, but I stuck by the earlier jumps (after seeing Sam and Michael Jung retire at the hatchery further down the course). I'll upload a couple now, if I can figure it out! (Edit: Cheated and shared them on the FB group!)ID #31100
