Searching horses?
-
Okay, so I feel like I may be doing something wrong, because whenever I try to search any horses I get "page 1 of 1" and no horses.. I searched a pretty wide range.. a brindle like color, for breeding. What am I doing wrong?! This happens to me any time I try to search for horses! I get an empty page! And if I sort them I swear the results are not correct, or maybe I'm doing that wrong too? Frustrated.Breeder of Quality Warmbloods and Show Horses

What fields are you searching with? If you can give me a specific search you want to do, I'll see what I can find and will tell you exactly how I filled out the search for to get my results.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Just brindle stallions for breeding. That's literally all I put in the search field. LolBreeder of Quality Warmbloods and Show Horses

Here are the results I got checking For Breeding and selecting Stallion as the gender. I followed that up by clicking on the Patterns tab and removing the check mark in front of None Brindle, leaving the check mark before Brindle.

When I did not change the search to specify brindle on the patterns tab and just typed brindle into the color name slot, I, too, got no search results.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I've noticed that some horses who are mosaic do not have brindle in their name, so that's probably why.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Hmm. That's interesting.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

That field (color name) probably searches the matching field on the horses page, so it wouldn't show up since it's not in the WRITTEN color name anymore. The patterns and colors pages, on the search, probably search the genetics part, where brindle/mosiac is listed, so that one works.Thanked by 1KAMRanch

I still don't understand. How do you explain the color names on this horse, created last week?
10617 Bone Fire
and this one, created this past Tuesday?
101017 Pumpkin Spice
Is mine the only computer that shows their color names as
Color: Cremello Splash Brindle
and Color: Red Dun Splash Brindle
The term used in the genetic report is no longer Brindle but Mosaic, although the search Brindle/None Brindle probably tags the same genetic field, despite the changed name.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Brindle is not part of the name in the database. Use the brindle search checkbox.

The brindle search checkbox even works when the horses have not been gene tested :)
The searches make things so much easier. -
Thanks for explaining that, Ammit. I was getting really puzzled between what I was seeing and what I was being told.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
