Secret Santa Gift Idea: Would Anyone Want This?
-
Hello, y'all! This is my first year of Secret Santa on the game, and I'd like to contribute gifts that people get excited about. Between my two accounts, I have a breeding pair (one filly, one colt) Candy Corn RS draft yearlings. [To clarify: I am talking about the Rank Special, NOT the candy pony. No GMT tokens are included!]
Would anyone actually want this pair as a Secret Santa gift? I know the sales market is... not very strong... for this RS. The rabid fan clubs for Texas Tea, BBTS, etc, seem much stronger than for Candy Corn.
I understand Secret Santa is about the sentiment, not the product, but I also don't want to dump horses on someone who doesn't really want them, just because they don't work for my breeding program. That's not gift-giving, that's just... cleaning out the closet in a desperate attempt to find a white elephant gift ten minutes before the holiday party starts.
If this was YOUR gift, would you be thrilled, or bummed out? Are these horses the candied fruitcakes of the holiday season? (Not to insult fruitcake; I've actually had a few that were tasty.)
Your honesty is appreciated! Thank you in advance for your advice.
P.S. I understand that talking about a SECRET really defeats the purpose, so, please wipe this conversation from your mind when we're through discussing ; ) -
I think Candy Corn sells just fine, it's just people keep saying they don't over and over and driving down the market for no reason. These are still 20 to 30k or so horses.

Thanks, Ammit! I've been watching Candy Corn RS for sale this week, and they're not really moving much. However, I also know we're all stuffed to the gills with special horses this month. (It's a very good problem to have.)

That sounds a wonderful idea. I like all the RSs and if it was me I'd be happy. Of course there are people who only breed certain lines so a Candy Corn might not fit in :)

How does the secret Santa thing work?
Though I had an account I wasn't playing much last year and never done it before :)●▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬●

Candy corn is a decent RS. Maybe a few people don't like the roan, but if they're just yearlings yet they'll be GMTable in December just fine. :) So whether you're in the mood to go all out and get whatever ice is coming up or they decide to do it themselves, it could actually be a great opportunity for LE work. :) Silver, roan, and splash are favourites for ices, if you look around. :D

@Paradise Park
Near the beginning of December, the Secret Santa coordinators post a thread about the program. There are usually two levels--a level where there is an upper limit on how much can be spent on gifts, all of it to be game money and a second level with a higher limit and allowing gifts costing real life cash to be given. People wanting to participate send a PM to the designated organizer, listing which level they are interested in, what colors, sizes, patterns, and so forth they would like. The coordinator matches the entrants and sends each one the request message from another person. Then the fun begins. There is usually a designated Elf, too, who helps coordinate early gifts, so that the recipient has no idea who their Secret Santa really is.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Even the GMT Candy Horses arn't moving as much right now. Plus with people still buying plaid with game cash. Those who had cash to burn at the start of the month don't now.

I wouldn't mind joining with one of my RS mares later on, if they're accepted in this! Now I just gotta decide on what one...Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
If I was the recipient I would love them as a gift. I like all colors.Thanked by 1Riata

Is it just living horses, or can you put up eggs and straws?
-
@DevilsParadise eggs and straws from what horses and for what?

Does anyone remember when Secret Santa started last year? Was it at the beginning of December or earlier? I'm just so eager to get started!
