So my Stallion Dark Pearl who is a buckskin pearl splash frame. Yesterday he threw me a Smokey Grullo splash frame rabicano filly. What i was wondering is how he produced the filly. All he has given me or other people are bay, black, Amber and gold champanges, buckskin, and some chestnut. How did he manage to produce a Grullo filly? The fillys name is dark cloudLife is Special live it to your fullest

This is what I think happened. I may be wrong though, because genetics may be a little different in the game rather than in real life. Some of the other members might have a better explanation for you. I have breeder friends in real life. One of them breeds for Quarter Horses for color, Palomino, Buckskin and Grullo, (which she calls Grulla.) But she is old school, she is in her 80's, and still breeding Quarter Horses. Anyway, Dark Cloud got a double copy of dominate Black, and she got one copy of dominate Dun and one recessive copy of Dun. You can get a Smokey Black or Grullo from those too. Throw in that Dark Cloud also got one copy of a dominate and one copy of a recessive cream gene. That is probably pretty much how she got the Grullo color.
