Clarification

Hi all,
I'm wondering when someone is selling and offering a stallion for breeding that states only to breed it to a particular generation of mare, is this just for the stallion service or does this also apply to the new owner if purchased? I just wont to get this confirmed so I don't buy a stallion that I can't use!
Cheers -
That restriction is usually intended for users of a stallion that is up for public stud. Many players prefer to breed this way and to have their horses used this way for several reasons--it makes for a neat-looking pedigree and it is one way to help monitor the breeding ability so that mare and stallion are approximately the same.
If you buy a horse, it becomes yours, and you can set whatever standards you wish. If the stallion is a lined horse and not a foundation, it would be polite to send the owner/breeder a private message here on the forum with a description of how you would want to use him and asking if they had serious objections to your plan. Note that if you are planning on breeding foals to sell them, even pedigrees will probably increase their chances of being sold.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
