  • The majority of my Blue papered mares end up inconsistent, like 9 times out of 10, I will have inconsistent fillies that paper Blue, but pass SBA. Do you keep them and breed them? Is there a way to make them consistent through boost or GMT tokens? Or is it a breeding thing?

I personally don't like keeping inconsistent horses, but if they paper well and pass SBA should I make an exception?
  • Yes, you can GMT consistent. It cost 1 token. I'm not picking about consistency so i will breed inconsistent horses as long as they past testing and paper where i want them to

  • I'm really not picky about consistency, especially in breeders. The only time I get rid of an inconsistent horse is if it's supposed to be a show pony and has a PT below 10.
  • I'm just the opposite, DevilsParadise! LOL! I don't, generally, keep the inconsistent breeding horses, but will keep the inconsistent showers! If there is something super special about the breeding foal, I will pay for the GMT, but otherwise, nope!

BlueBird, I have had inconsistent foals pop up in 6th and 7th generations of horses that have STRICT pedigrees of NO inconsistent horses!

  • It's random - as ConfluenceFarms said they can just pop up. You can't breed it out completely although you can make inconsistency less likely. If you like the horses keep them. I often get rid of the red mares who are inconsistent and keep blue ones. Or you could just keep those with those rare genes you want. Strict breeding advice has already helped you weed out quite a bit :)
  • Lol well I also run mine through SBA. I figure if they get passed that, they're ok :)

  • These are low, second gen or third gen that are coming up as inconsistent from some of my favorite horses, with all the colors I want to keep breeding for or surprise colors I wasn't expecting them to get. I don't keep any inconsistent horses in general, partially because I might be a little OCD and the thought of inconsistency makes my head scream :))
  • I am more likely to buy GMTs to make inconsistent horses consistent than for any other reason. That doesn't mean that I do it for every horse that tests inconsistent, I do do it fairly frequently.
De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

  • I have had some 2 gen Blue mares come up inconsistent. I don't mind inconsistent. But I am going to keep my blue 2 gens no matter. I have GMT'ed some of them consistent. Others I just leave inconsistent. As long as they get me points for bonuses.
  • I’m like Sandy—I’m more likely to “fix” inconsistent foals for future Breeders than any other GMT fix. If they are everything I wanted, or if they are Lab babies (and passed testing/meet my other standards), I will make them consistent. If they aren’t exactly what I want, I snip them for show ponies or sell them. I don’t care about inconsistent show ponies.
  • Yeh if it's something special I gmt them consistent, I don't take any notice of consistency for the show ponies
  • The problem with automatically snipping inconsistent ones is there is such a wide range of inconsistency. I have some inconsistents who swing fairly wide and others who barely have any change in their show placings. Probably depends on who they are up against as well.
  • I too use it fairly often, but just a note - it is two GMTs to fix inconsistency, not one :)
