question about barns

I have quite a few 15 stall barns for my show ponies and I was wondering if it would work if I was to sell them back to buy a bigger barn?
would it allow me because currently, I have no free space apart from a couple of stalls?

Yes you can sell them back in the "Upgrade with Game Money" area. They will overfill your main barn but you won't lose any horses. You don't get all your IVs back but you do get most of them.
