And there’s no way to know a foundie horse is het for certain until you get a hom snowflake foal, as het snf doesn’t show at all. You might be looking at the varnish speckles on her shoulders :)

Either way, though, with that many points she got snatched up pretty quick!

Lol, no worries, it took me a while too. When I first heard about snowflake I got so unreasonably excited over varnish I saw one day cause it was a lil bigger spots than normal. =))

After that, I pretty quickly learned the rule of “if you can’t enter it in the breeder club it’s not” when it comes to snf/kp/gp, cause that’s the only way to tell for certain certain unless you know both the parents are hom, lol, as none of those three hidden genes display unless hom (and with modifiers - appy for snf, 2 kit genes for kp, bay for gp).

However, a lot of people do like to breed snf studs to appy foundie girls because that extra chance of having appy in there if the dam is het snf is nice. It’s not necessary, though - just like any foundie can carry dp, any foundie can carry snf, appy or no.
