As another member suggested, now that DP is in the purchase option for GMT's, you can check to see if a horse carries it. Just select the horse, then selct "Modify this horse", and look at the DP section. Horses that carry it will have t "D" in the gene selection phase. As long as you don't select the gene, you don't have to pay for it.
I discovered that this White Wedding mare was hom DP!

DD is dominate dun. The dd is recessive dun. DP is Dense Phenomelanin, and shows up in the lab as ?

@confluence in the gene sale box it is coming up as d>>D..except in some cases where it just says D with no option to add.
In my case, this girl, I can only add DP to strand two, strand one already says D (and she is Hom Dun btw, when I read your comment I wondered about if the Dun was het was there a mix up, but I don’t think so)

I think they're talking about for the roving gene sales, NOT the gmt lab.

I checked the gmt lab myself, and found that it all worked as I remembered for dp. I even checked het, hom, and foundation dps.

For the roving gene sale the gene example does pop up as d>>D. However I tried it with my ToT (who I am almost certain is a het dp, as she looks like a hom sooty chestnut with only 1 copy) and both genes were listed as d>>D, and I could add both to cart.

Yep! Confluence, to make sure I checked a couple freaky Fridays. If your horse is homozygous DP, it went give you the option to even buy it for said horse- but if the horse carries one copy, then the system will only let you add one strand to the cart.

Ah.....they meant Roving Sales, not the GMT lab.

However, to quote Ammit, in the Beginners Barn:

It is completely against the spirit of the gene. The only way to stop people from doing this is to remove the DP option altogether. I would hate to have to do that. Please, folks, don't abuse the system. I am sure I can trust you on the honor system in this.
