So I love the look of Nacre, and was so excited to see it for grabs, but $35?! is it worth it? Can I see some awesome examples?

Its stunning, but I personally cannot justify spending 35$ for one strand. I guess it just depends on whether you have the extra money or not..

It really goes well with watercolor! I unfortunately put it on a mare and so adding it to lines is slow going but I have a watercolor/nacre stud that I'll be using soon enough! He's gonna take over for his dad in my breeding system once all the girls age up! I may do another round of foundation breeding which will take another 4 months and then go through and cull later to see what I get! I know it's slow going and I'm ok with that!

I really love it too but I can't spend the 35 right now either. It's a Gene and it's one of the newer ones so I know they're showing it is definitely worth it but for me right now I just can't do it

I think I'm honestly the only one that doesn't like it.. lol
Even if it was cheap I would probably never get it. I'm glad to see people who love it tho! Takes all kinds! But it's
just not attractive to me.
Then again I help my neice breed entirely chestnuts, so maybe I'm a boring to at heart.. I also can't stand inbreeding and it doesn't even matter in this game! :P
I also don't have any fantasy genes other than ice.. Haha =))

In my opinion, everyone should give Ammit money even if I don't like nacre! She deserves it! :x

Does it take 2 strands to show|that is $70.00 per horse. Too much for me right now. Just bought the last 3 genes. Will have to wait to see if it comes out again. :(

I only bought one copy for a mare on the last sale, but it's really grown on me, and I agree it looks so pretty with watercolour!

With watercolor it’s one of my favorite combos in the game. If you like it but just can’t afford it this time around, let me know and I will see about getting you some show ponies to dress up and play with!

If it's worth it to you then it's worth it. Personally, I've found that I prefer nacre with lighter colored horses (getting more of that mother of pearl sheen) vs darker horses. It's not my favorite gene but I keep it around to play with and also enjoy mixing it with watercolor or other fantasy genes.

That’s the best thing about this game.

It doesn’t matter what we think or like it matters what You think or like.

Personally like KamRanch I really don’t like it so nacre is way way way down the list of preferred genes to buy but I don’t have to include it in my herd unless I want to.

If the next person loves it than awesomesauce! I wish them hundreds of pretty babies.

It’s all personal preference there’s no right or wrong. This server I’m sticking more to ice and want to add a foundation satin at some point. On hj1 I have my more colourful herd with nexus and axiom and I am going to add a plaid stud this RGS (which I actually didn’t like either axiom or plaid when they came out but tastes change and that’s perfectly ok too)

I have the gene and love it, so if you'd like some show babies, I'd be happy to pass some along. I'm mixing it into other fantasy lines as well, so I'd be happy to send you show babies from those as well.

@KAMranch you aren't the only one. I don't care for any of the off colored and rainbow horses. Het nexus is ok since it almost looks like a snowflake, and I love chinchilla because it is realistic. But watercolor, axiom, and all those are not my cup of tea. I'm not even that fond of satin...

But like others have said, if you really like it, it's worth it. I love chinchilla, so even if it was $35 per stand, I still would have at least gotten a het. The best part is, once you own the license, you can buy more from other people, even if you can only afford one copy.
