What to do....

    Lucked up and got this great boy today but now I have to decide on a name
    and, do I leave him as is or do a little GMT work....

    I'm really torn on the GMT or not as I breed for liver but not for dun; however, that may change as I think he is gorgeous (like I need any more lines - my stable is a mess right now) LOL I also breed for appaloosa so thought about getting snowflake.

    suggestions appreciated! :)

    The good news is that he's only het dun so, if you're strapped for gmts, you could leave it on and have plenty of non-dun foals.

    For the snowflake, just a reminder that you will have to put a copy of appy on him for it to show. Most people tend to make their snowflake herd sires hom appy as that means every foal gets a copy of both, increasing their chances of being a snowflake. So you'd either need to wait and see if appy comes up on the roving gene sales, or spend the gmt's to put it on him.

    Appaloosa wont come up in the RGS, you'd have to use the GMT lab in you wanted that.

    I put Snowflake on a non appy stud and plan to use him with appy mares for "suprise" snowflakes down the line. I tend to be heavy on the line breeding, so his descendants will be bred to each other. I love surprises. :)
