So i keep saying that i like to drown my SS recipient with horses and straws/eggs but right now i'm drowning myself :)) I keep buying/breeding more that i now am almost completely out of room :)) My giftee is gonna have lots to take home!

How is everyone else doing so far? :)

I am waiting on tenterhooks for some specific genes to pop up on the RGS.
Until then I need to organize my stash of show ponies for my SS.

I'm doing a bunch of research and I always set aside too many horses. XD I'll just tell them they can cherrypick from the assorted RSs and show ponies. The big ones they'll just have to take and be happy. >:}

I am having issues trying to decide. My SS doesnt have a dislike and even though that sounds easy it isn't. Not sure but I want to do something special for my SS. Not sure what that is.

I'm sorta surprised at how hard it is to hit the price bracket. I thought 15 horses and several straws would be enough, but I haven't even hit 100k yet. So my SS is going to end up buried in pixel ponies.

@bestfriend seems like you could focus in on the Likes and find an RS that fits and then spice them up. You could search their barns and see what's trending. :P Maybe see if they have mostly white horses or if they don't have as many genes that combine lethally. :)

Theres also the option of sending them HB's on Christmas. :D They could put those towards a barn or whatever they need. Kinda like a gift card. Not as personal but sometimes much needed.

I am buried with finals even worse than I thought. By the time I can start shopping many others will be revealing themselves already! But I have a couple days to shop like crazy and get things done.

I have half a barn stuffed with gifts to include specially made horses, RS, show ponies, and more. I am still seeking out more horses, straws/eggs, and sending A Lot of straws and eggs (includes some of my own stocks) their way come Christmas morning! Not to mention a few sneaky-peekies before then. I do hope they enjoy their coming gifts/spoils.

I have a lot of horses to give - I am lucky and have some space - hope my SS has too - I need to stop now I think I've spent all my money. People have been so generous though I have managed to get a lot for my money. I am only in the under 250k group.
I love the gifting most of all :X

What I have sounds simple, but still not getting as many as I’d hoped. I have them a pasture. A decent amount of foundations like they wanted. A couple unique show ponies. A few gold mares. But still hope I can find more before we’re through.

As an Elf I think a lot of you are doing way better at keeping your heads above water then y'all think. Or at least my calendar of things to send out on top of my own SS stuff would indicate a lot of you are spoiling your SS...which is good!

I started out okay, but now I'm worried. I signed up for the sky's the limit, and in petrified.

At first i thought it would be fine, but right now I don't have any real cash right now, so I can't add any really special genes to a horse or buy pastures. I just hope that that theyd be patient enough to wait an extra week, when I get paid.

I'm getting so nervous! I really hope my giftee likes what i have for them! I haven't been able to do as much as i was hoping to since I'm not making nearly as much money as i was last year. I've had to stretch the boundaries or what they like/dislike since they breed a different body type than i do but hoping that they don't mind so much. I really can't wait to see they're reaction! I keep forgetting that i'm even getting stuff too because i'm so focused on making my giftee feel special! Can it be time to reveal yet?! I am so impatient!

I'm hoping both my main and my alt accounts SS like their gifts... not sure if I went overboard or under board on their presents and between keeping up with them and elfing I don't know whether I'm coming or going this Yule :D though I seem to be keeping my head above water at this point so not quite drowning but super nervous/anxious as this is my first SS event.

I'm lucky I breed most of what my SS does. Right now I'm sending horse gifts. I've had semen sent from horses that aren't my own. Once we can reveal my SS is getting embryos and semen from the farm.

I think I'm all set, but it still doesn't feel like enough. I'm in the $250,000 and under category, and I have about 25 gifts total. One of those is a big one that checks multiple boxes. I'm still on the hunt for small presents to round things out though!

And here I am terrified that I am going to end up over budget!

I was so sure that I would not be able to handle the Skys the Limit group so chose the middle one but I am looking at the horses I have collected, what my plans are for my SS and the second group's 2mill ceiling and am sweating. :-SS

And even then I still feel like I won't do my SS justice and am starting to second guess myself.

I am just looking at their "big" gift that I am waiting on a gene or two for and wondering if I am going to go over budget.
I may have to whittle out a couple of the smaller stocking stuffers.

Holiday PSA TL;DR: Secret Santa is supposed to be FUN, not an additional holiday stress! Enjoy it!

The mushy essay:
Nobody is automatically expecting you to shell out real money for their gift, and certainly nobody wants you to worry if money is a real-life issue. Those gifts go above and beyond, and are always appreciated, but never expected, even as a member of “The Sky’s The Limit” group. Most of us aren’t rolling in piles of money, or we would be buying actual barns to fill with real-life Krazy Kolor horses! (Just imagine a barn full of champagnes and cremellos, mushrooms and perlinos, silvers and gulastra plumes.)

As a recipient, it is easier for me to treasure a few thoughtfully-selected horses than a barnful. If you WANT to send a barnful, you do you! Go crazy! But please don’t feel obligated to.

I know it is easy to fret and worry if your gift is enough, especially as people start to reveal their awesome gifts. I am over the MOON with gifts I received today, and I know I won’t be able to match my gifters’ financial generosity, but that doesn’t make the gift I give less meaningful.

Please trust me: your gift is perfect, whatever its size, because you selected it with love while thinking about your recipient.

P.S. Please remember, everyone, when adding up your expenses that horses in your own barn have value, too! If you gave away your King’s Ransom, it’s worth a lot more than the 4100 you spent on creation and testing. If you chose one of your treasured lined breeding horses or pointed show ponies, that horse has value, too!

P.P.S. If anyone is selling a King’s Ransom for 4100 hbs, please let me know ; P

I am frustrated. Can't modify the horse I want with Satin because it wants to change Sa to sa. The thing is he doesn't have satin yet.

satin is recessive. so for it to show you have to make the horse sasa vs SaSa
