I think the average foal PT is a good approach based on Ammits post. Also, instead of always breeding even generations you can breed similar avg foal PT parents together.

I assume at some point there is a ceiling though and it wouldn't be possible to get any better horses? Does anybody know if that is true or not?

Salvistar, I seem to remember WAY back that Ammit said that there is no ceiling, but it will get harder and harder to raise it as you get closer to it. (I may be completely wrong with that statement, but it got into my head somehow! :P ) What's the highest PT score right now? 13.1?

My high PT horses on HJ1 seem 'levelled out', but my stallions are so much better than my mares so it makes it very hard to progress. On HJ2 I've kept them even which has actually seemed to have helped, more so for me keeping track of breeding rather than any particular magic to even pedigrees. I know when to expect them to go Gold, and when the stallions are to be Stars etc. I'm progressing slower, and I haven't played in about 12 months, so I'll see how they continue to progress now I'm back. If my mares quality is lacking I'll just cull more heavily and wait for mare quality to get closer to the stallions. Can only try and see what happens LOL!
