Is it important to register your horses in the clubs? Please explain the breeders club to me? Is it mainly for the people that have like the big upgraded system? Thanks
-
Totally unimportant. Really only to chase leaderboards, either for points or top producers for breeding horses. That said, I enter all of my horses because it's free and I enjoy seeing my horses' names on the boards!
-
I register all of my horses. I don't know why. Only few horses have chances for earning awards, but if I don't test my horses' genotypes, registration just helps to discover and remember what genes they have.
As Cheers said, it's free, so...why not? ;)understand the significance of signatures -
Cool thanks I enter mine as well just because also. Just maybe I might be there some day and also hey it makes my horses feel good about themselves LOL

Breeders clubs should not be used for figuring out genetics. That is cheaty, and Ammit does not approve ;)Thanked by 1Wildland Acres

What? Really? Most of the genes can be just seen when a horse is created/born, and registering a horse won't show if is your horse homozygous or heterozygous for any gene #-o
So horses which never will achieve anything at the LBs shouldn't be registered in the Breeders Clubs because it shows what genes they have?understand the significance of signatures -
Of course you can register them, but Ammit has expressed many times that registering them to find out their color is "cheaty". Of course, there is no way of knowing, but it should not be "advertised" as a way of getting out of paying for a color test.Thanked by 1kintara

Most genes are identifiable by phenotype, but some are not obvious, especially patterns that are currently affected by white factor, where a horse may carry the spotting gene but there is no visible pattern, or only a minimal one. Also, frame hides unless there is a white pattern for it to affect. Sooty+ can be hard to see on some colors. And White 1 horse with lots of White Factor will most likely not have enough color present to identify what the base color is.
So, the preferred way to find out if a horse has any of these not obvious genetics is to do a color test, not check to see which Breeders Clubs it is eligible for.
Any horse can be entered into the Breeders Clubs it is eligible for because you can't predict which ones will end up on the points leaderboards, since luck plays such a role there. Entering them just to find out a tricky color or pattern, however, is not acceptable game play.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I enter all my horses in the Breeder's Clubs. But, all of my horses are color tested before I do register them. I like to see which of my horses are getting on the Points Earned lists. If they are altered, then I breed their parents together again. If they are intact, then I breed them together to get good show horses. I have a few stallions that are on the Leaderboards for Top Producing Stallion. That is cool to see my horse's name and stable up there.

One of my many gameplay goals is to get all of my breeding stock color tested....

Sorry! Still trying to figure out this game. Should have known, but didn't think.
