Dark chocolate ?
-
Is the dark chocolate hom for DP? I got a chocolate palomino. I don't quite grasp the KP and DP as you can't test for them.
-
Chocolate palomino or liver chestnut horse has to have three or four copies of these two "dark" genes (DP and sooty). So chocolate palomino can be homozygous DP and homozygous sooty, OR homozygous DP and heterozygous sooty, OR heterozygous DP and homozygous sooty.
Dark Chocolate Herd Helper is heterozygous DP and homozygous sooty, I think.understand the significance of signatures -
Ah OK. Thank you!

If you need more help with DP there are several breeders here that can explain and give examples
I breed DP but haven't for as long as some of the others----
