I am negotiable on the price.
I am seeing if they interest anyone before I geld them and add them to my show herd. :)
  • How much for 701060?
  • @DothrakiPrince, what is your offer? I am negotiable but I will go no lower than 1,000hbs.

@best friend, thank you! I thought they were a handsome lot and needed a chance to stay intact. :)
  • I'd like to get 701079. Won't have money till Sunday. I will pay the 2500 you are asking for him.
  • @Skylight, I have taken him off the market for you. I will add you to my buddy chatroom where you can pick him up at your convenience.
  • @DothrakiPrince, deal! I will move him to my chatroom and you can pick him up at your convenience.
  • Unless you are selling horses that you don't care about, you should really sell them for 2600. Anything under that can be "flipped" at auction for a profit. Which will most likely lead to the deletion of the horse

  • @ColorGoodStables, thank you for your concern but I'm not too worried about them being "flipped".

My total point collection is increasing at a good rate now and I can almost afford whatever testing I want on a daily basis. These second generation foals won't be contributing solid points for a few months at least. If they get auctioned, oh well, but if they get picked up and used, yay! I really don't mind.
  • @Ritska sounds peachy then. I just wanted to give a working just in case you cared about where they went or if you wanted to make profit off of them.
I've had older horses with good points flipped on me before and it's rather irksome. I now sell at 2600 or more

  • @ColorGoodStables, oh man, I'm sorry to hear that! Horses with solid points behind them are hard to get and it is such a waste to have them auctioned.

These yearlings don't have much invested in them so I'm not concerned. I don't often sell horses and, when I do, I find it difficult to price them right. So I would just as soon keep them as sell them. Thank you for your concern though, :)
  • @Ritska agreed. She was young to. Only 5 and gaining points fast. The others weren't worth much.
With Colts it's hard to get profit anyway. Best to either geld and allow them to collect points or to toss in auction. Papering usually just wastes money. And no problem. I was interested in the last boy but he's spoken for already. Not to mention I have 30 second gen colors already

  • Ritska, I wouldn't hold that horse for DothrakiPrince. That stable has been locked for rule breaking.

  • @Confluence, I wasn't online soon enough to see your message - I also received one from Cheers - about DothrakiPrince and it appears that they purchased the colt. I don't know how, but I will be sure to check the stable before reserving now. Selling horses is more complicated then I thought.

As for gelding or auctioning, I plan on gelding these colts. They didn't attract much interest and I'm okay with that. From the original post, I stated that I just wanted to give them a chance before gelding them and adding them to my show line since a lot of them have nice patterns and gene combinations. I have way too many second generation colts, too, and I definitely can't keep them all intact. :P
  • Ritsika, I don't think it is generally a big problem, that you would need to check every stable before reserving. Maybe just the newer barn names that don't ring a bell. Even then I don't think it is a huge issue. This one just happened to coincide with your sale. I wouldn't worry too much! :)

If you want to check the status of a stable, though, just click their underlined name anywhere it appears on the forum, and then click their underlined stable ID on their profile page. If you go up and click on DothrakiPrinces name, back up in the earlier posts on this thread, you can see that the stable was locked.

    Thanked by 1Ritsika
  • @Confluence, you see, I only went to their forum page when I clicked on their name because all I needed was their user ID#. I know how to find their stable page but it didn't even cross my mind to check their status.
