Good mare or bad mare?
-
If I understand this right. If you create a mare and breed her, then she has a colt. The test is to see if the colt is better than the stallion. If the mare has a filly, then the test is to see if the filly is better than the mare. So if the filly gets spayed does that mean the mare is no good because she didnt produce better than herself, or does it mean she didn't cross well with that stallion and try her with a different stallion?

It just means that the "dice" rolled low scores this one time. The only real way to find out a mares quality is to wait until she qualifies for papering (3 living foals) and see how she papers. Upgraded members can check a mares (or stallions) Average Foal Performance Test score (AFPT) to see an average score for ALL the living foals the horse has.
Try reading this. Some of it won't apply, but the chart towards the bottom may help.
