So this kidding season 7 little kids have been born on the farm! all were girls except for one. But all of the were black and white:( except the little boy which is tri-colored 3 of them has had moon spots which I love and 2 had blue eyes. And I have to more little ones coming in a few months! As of now I have 18 goats!Where quality Show and Performance Horses are bred.

I'm so sad :( Got my goats' blood tests back and my doe isn't pregnant :'( I ws hoping she'd have babies to take to fair but since I waited so long to get the tests, it's way too late to rebreed. So i'm still only at 2 goats. My doe and her "oops baby" from last year.

Tipsy, you have all the luck! 6 girls and 1 boy ( of course, that is only good luck if you want girls) is great. Baby goats are too cute! Bummer for the open doe, AHayes. Our buck turned up infertile, so we won't have babies this season, but we already have a replacement lined up so we will have babies next year. But we do have 5 piggies running around, a coop of biddies, and bunnies are due any day. I love spring!
-
@AHayesHorses well maybe you'll just have to buy a kid this year then.... to hold you over haha ;)
-
My friends down the road from me have had 2 bucks and 6 nannies so far this season. They still have 3 does to go.
-
@MoonAcre Haha i'd love to but I won't be home until the end of May. My mom is taking care of my 13 rabbits and 2 goats while i'm at school. Althoug, the person I take my goat to for breeding is selling all her goats, so i'm thinking I just might have to buy a couple of her does and one of her bucks :D My parents might disagree but that's ok :D I've been know to bring animals home "uninvited"Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms

AHayes, "uninvited animals" :D
-
@AHayes - I took a couple of my does out for breeding and came home with a few extras. Took my family over 3 months to notice lol.

I'm waiting for my Doe to drop her kid(s). She's been showing signs of prelabor since Saturday but hasn't started actual labor yet. She's a gold ran frostie half lamancha bred to a solid black pure lamancha.#28036

Haha Hayes! Glad I'm not the only one with the uninvited animals bit. Mine gave 3 bucks and 4 does... the only problem is I'm heading back to college in a couple weeks and I have 5 keeper does when Mom only gave me permission to have 2 goats. Lol. Fortunately I've had 3 so long I think Mom thinks that's my number. I'd be happy to let you keep some of mine for a bit as Mom is trying to sell my Doeling and my yearling, but yeah. Goats are fun, keeping animals with college is so hard!

@Coeur That's great XD I'm 110% sure both my parents would notice if I brought home a new goat (since I only have 2 right now it'd be kinda hard to miss). But I think I could get away with bringing home a new rabbit without them noticing. Especially once i'm done with school, my parents wouldn't set foot in my rabbit shed so they'd never know who's in there!
@Haltanny I have a pygmy doe and her "oops baby" that is a kinder (Pygmy/Nubian cross). He was definitely not supposed to happen. We all thought she was pregnant with a few pygmy babies but surprise! One month before we thought she was due, my friend (who I was boarding them with at the time) walked out and there he was XD He was such a big baby that he had to get down on his knees to suckle. She gave birth when no one was around so my friend and her mother were terrified since Blizzard was so small. Thankfully, everything went great and there were no health problems. Turns out, Blizzard had managed to get in with their Nubian buck (who's like 3 times her size) and then gotten out again without anybody noticing, a month before I planned to breed her.
@WildlandAcres It's so hard! I got to college in a whole different state, 9.5 hours away from home! Thankfully I have such a wonderful mother who takes amazing care of my animals :D -
@AHayes Yeah 2 might be a problem. I bred and show Alpines so I had at that time around 20ish, so if you really think about it, whats one or several more? By the way, when your parents do find out about said new animals, "What's a few more?" is not the correct answer. ;PThanked by 1AHayesHorses

All mine are "on purpose" babies. I have a small goat dairy (just 3 does). I'm hoping Goldie gives me a good buck to keep, but she's still holding them hostage. :)#28036

@AHayes I am so sorry! Last year one of my favorite does was pregnant with her first baby and she had miscarriage is was so so sad:( i have been raising rabbits since I was 8 and I am currently 16! I have 7 bunnies right now but I bred them this year and they didn't have there babies either:( (I bred 2 of them the other does were the ones I got when I was 8, there so old!) I have Nubians and Nigerian Dwarfs.
I also have a question...
So in my FFA class we just had a mini pony born and it was a colt! But I was going to ask what color you might think he will turn into. He is a grayish brownish color with whit fading on his legs, nose and tail.

@Tipsy03 That's sad about your goat but awesome about having rabbits! I raise Mini Lops as show rabbits and I tried to breed Californians for meat but the does just wouldn't have babies so I gave up XD I'm gonna sell them and get a new meat breed another time. I've shown rabbits in 4h for about 7 years now and just started breeding 2 years ago.

@AHayseHorses I have a Californian, an Mini Rex, a Lionhead, and and English Spot. The other 3 are just plain rabbits.Where quality Show and Performance Horses are bred.
