So far this breeding season has been a total failure for me! Everything at my place is tested and everything that I breed to is tested, but yet all four of my foals didn't pass testing. Has anyone else been experiencing the same problem. Does anyone have advice to avoid this?

If you can post links to the foals that helps! But 4 foals isn't very many (it doesn't hurt any less though!) so you may just be having a run of bad luck. Some days the breeding fairy is just against you...

I guess my best piece of advice would be to breed more and make sure your horses breeding ability is even (Yellow to C, Red to B, Blue to A, *Gold to *Star) You can mix and match but you're more likely to end up with snipped foals. You've only bred four foals this season so it's more than likely just a numbers thing. Also, make sure you're using full advantage of the pasture bonus on your mares.

@FireWaterStables, I am confident when I say each and every one of us has had a season where we say: Ugh! Coeur has given you great advice and, as Cheers mentioned, links to the foals might also prove beneficial in learning what cross might be more successful in getting intact foals.

Don't let the hard seasons get you down though. Give it another go because the hard seasons make the successful seasons all the sweeter for the reward. Hang in there!

If it makes you feel any better, I bred nearly 150 horses and I only got 13 intact foals from that. Everything else was aga sire/dam but was mostly altered. This season was pretty dire! There's been a few seasons where I only have 30 or so foals get altered which is actually harder for me! I'd rather have a few amazing foals than thin down a couple of hundred good foals.

When I felt that way early on I sold everything and bought a ton of mares from foundation rescue and got a couple experf studs. (I don't necessarily recommend that. Time consuming and costly) also utilizing the 30 day pasture bonus has drastically reduced the number of snips. 100 of or to mares to my 2 experf boys and about 20 snips at most.
