Am I the only one who would like to see something "Arabic" or Middle Eastern themed? Something like a Sultan's or Sheik's stable or tent possibly.
Another idea is Cowboy Chuck Wagon (Cook's Wagon), or maybe camping themed.
I need a computer and artistic skills, ugh.

Edit: Ammit, I know that you have a lot on your plate; so I am only throwing this out there. I think an Arabic tack pack would be very awesome. :D

I was thinking something Oriental would be cool. A pagoda next to a pretty bridge? Someone use these ideas! If I wanted to try myself I would do it....don't feel bad!

I spent way too long on this... I searched autumn on google images and one of the first images I saw was an apple orchard so I figured I'd try that. Hope it tickles someone's fancy. I might have two more coming, if I'm feeling frisky.

@ColourWorld I have some concerns about using yours in case it might be a photo manipulation. The lighting is so pho-realistic for the pixelated art style. Do you have any other examples of things you have drawn?

@Ammit This is my sort of style of doing computer art, but I can put a blur on it, if that would be better? As it has been sharpened to make it look more realistic, and downsized to the correct pixeltion for this. But I can try to do something else, but they do take me a bit of time to do as I like them to look real good. :)

I was trying to think outside of the box for the fall festival theme, and came up with a scene after going to our area fall fair to watch the goats. Ammit, if this too far out of the box for the theme, I will gladly remove it.

I know good and well that none of mine match the style of the game, but I am working on it! I just need to stare at it for a while! Any advice is appreciated! (PM me, though, so we don't take over the thread!) I'm GREAT at ideas. NOT so great at execution!

(Scarecrow needs some details tweaked)

Hey Dena! I can help you a little.

I think there won't be enough space for the horses to stand where your corn stalks are right now, so if you're using layers (What program are you using? Do you have a stylus?) you could move them up a bit, or if you aren't you could crop the bottom open and fill in with the texture you have. I think you should fill in the spaces between stalks with a darker tan color like you already have, because we can tell there's only the line of corn there. What you have is plenty to give it texture, it's just the fresh air and grass that needs attending to. :)
Then maybe you could copy and paste the tassels at the top so that there's an endless sea (but behind all the leaves, I hope), and decide whether the corn is on flat plains or if there's anything back there, like trees or a mountain range.
I think the middle cloud is successfully textured, but it could use filling in.

and as for similar styling to the game, I think it's just the dark lines to the corn that's giving you trouble. :) smoothing the edges, using a smaller brush, or even using a slightly lighter grey would help. :)

Thanks Rose! I use (blush) MSPaint. I have Artweaver, but am not very good with it.

I do plan to clean up the horizon line, but adding tassels to do it sounds like a great idea!

Take a look at the orchard one I posted earlier, in regards to the game style. It's not right either, and it doesn't have the black lines (although you are right, they need to go!), and I don't know how to transition from a soft sky line around the trees to the detail of the 'interior' of the trees without messing it up!

In my head I KNOW that there is too sharp of a contrast between the different elements, I just cant get it to work on the computer! :P

I think the reason the orchard looks unusual is because the texture of the leaves (while really cool) is so busy with the dots, plus the sharp edges of the pixels, that it looks very different from the softer photoshop brush edges.
If you want some help with that one too, I would suggest just adding general shapes of large leaf clumps in a dark color behind what you have. These pictures give some examples of simplified trees:

After all, when you look at a tree, how often do you really look at each leaf?

Although I don't remember MS Paint very well at all, is it possible you could start with a larger resolution and then scale it down when you're finished? It might help with the soft edges. :)
