Glustra Plume?
-
Can someone show me some horses with this gene? I am thinking about a gmt project with both KP and plume. Would like to see the plume.

Sweet the tails are pretty. Now to decide if I do both on a horse.
-
Gulastra only shows up when it’s homozygous and on horses who are showing their Agouti gene (bay, wild bay, brown, Buckskin, Amber or sable champagne, bay dun, etc). Silver covers it up. Splash can cover it up. Certain expressions of various Kit genes will cover it up. Trying to combine KP and GP in a line can be very frustrating if you want your GP Plume to show. I know several people who have done it, but this is not necessarily an easy combination to make.
-
Aw ok. So I need to do one or the other I think.
-
Not necessarily. But you need to not be super fussed if your kit patterns cover up the tail. If you want to have horses that simultaneously show the KP cloud AND the plumed tail, you need to plan very carefully and pick your patterns. I’ve chosen to keep my two lines mostly separate, for lots of reasons but partially because I know I don’t have the patience to breed them together. You may be much more patient than I am!
-
I may want to work with solid type horses. That way maybe I can get both to show. I love a nice buckskin.
Do you think buckskin would be good to show both? -
I love Buckskin for GP. But remember for KP to show, you need 2 Kit pattern genes (can be the same pattern). So working with solid horses you won’t get KP clouds. I suppose you could do all W20 if you didn’t want lots of patterns.
-
These are my Homozygous KP Horses. I e gone for lots of patterns because I like layering lots of patterns together, but you can see how many of them have white tails because of their patterns.

kit roan and kit w20? w20 doesn't tend to hide much and roan doesn't either....Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
Ok lots to think about. I definitely like your KP horses Cheers. Maybe I can do something. I like W20 and roan.

RS Pumpkin Latte Creme
What happens if I add a black gene to him? He is the one I am wanting to do the project on? What do you think? -
I'd say that giving him one dominant extension would make him a buckskin dun splash brindle.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
