Hello, my name is Lilly.
I have tried looking through the FAQ, the forum, etc and I can't seem to find any indication of the lifespan of horses in this game. I understand we don't need to keep them up like other games with feeding, etc, but I also wonder if I play this game for a while, will I be stuck with a barn full of elderly horses at some point? I saw no limitations in the FAQ either on the age restrictions for shows, only for breeding. I also tried to search horses and I didn't seem to find any horses over 31 y/o. Is around 30 the limit and if so, what happens to the horse's page, viewing ability, etc?
Thank you so much for your help if you provide it! -
Horses can age out beginning at 17 years old. They obviously can live longer than that, and can continue to show until it passes. At some point you can have a chunk of old horses, but the oldies can be a great source of points for you. If you continually create/breed some horses, you will have replacements for the ones that do go.
I know that horses with a record can be viewed even after they are marked deceasesed. Here is an example

When they turn 18. Not at 17. :)

If your horses have been shown and gained a respectable number of show points, you should keep them in your stable until they age out of the game. Horses can be shown no matter how old they get, and their points will continue to add to your showing bonus as long as they are living. The showing bonus is the primary income source for stables in this game.
You can purchase barns using real money, but if that doesn't work for your budget, a stable full of established show horses will enable you to purchase Investment Vouchers which can also be used to purchase barns.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
