  • i went away for a day, came back and one of my mares injured herself. how!? it doesn't tell me how, or what but i'm confused
  • Injuries are a random part of the game. Usually, a horse will only injure itself once, and usually the damages are minimal. It could be as simple as she slipping in the pasture in real life, or stepping on a bucket and you had to replace the bucket.

  • At one time, when the game was very young (it will be 11 years old this summer), there were no tests to help find out the quality of a horse, so damages, especially very high ones, were created to help sort out the ones no good for breeding. Now, they are random, and mostly quite small, less than 10 hbs. Generally these small events are completely overshadowed by a horse's potential to gain show points and contribute to a stable's showing bonus.

It's just one more way that the game mimics owning real horses.
