Alas the end of breeding season is here. This means that our young foals will become two year olds in a few days and I'm pretty excited for a few.

Bella Guardia will be a lovely riding horse mare.

This handsome show gelding will be my first spotted draft.

I am so so so excited for this filly. My first homozygous Kit Promoter filly to pass free testing, yay!

Who are you excited to see grownup?

This beauty surprised me. I really like her dark forehead and very expressive body.

I am in love with Bella Guardia. I am going to try for another appy tobiano riding horse combination.

She kept her misty bum markings. I love her even more!

I got real chummy with the comparison test this month, so a bunch of studs and colts were necessarily altered. :P (including my nexus colts from Cheers. X( )

So. These are my altered foals, some very disappointing, some just pretty:

When you say "AGA" your benchmark...what does AGA stand for?

"As Good As". The Comparison test has three results: Superior to, As good as, and not as good as, or inferior. :)
My 2nd gen benchmark compared AGA Cheers' Lambrusco Star, who compares AGA someone else's top quality benchmark, just to give the colt some qualification. :P

Thanks! Not only does he have Sty+, but you can use him as a quality checker for your 2nd generation colts. :D

I checked all my kiddos against King of Cool but he came out on top. I am slowly but surely getting the hang of this....but I don't know that I will EVER figure out the showing!

Oh, and just to be sure, do you know which genes are lethal with white 1? I think it's white 1 & 2, and a sabino or two. Sorry to spring this on you if you didn't know. :/ There's a chart on the facebook page I'll go check...

I've seen it. And my poor brain can never keep it straight, so I just wing it. It took me 6 years on Shoco/WHG to remember not to breed Owls to Owls; no Owlets....that's how I finally had to remember it! But thanks! :)

Good. :P I just saw that it's every white and the first two sabinos, in case you're wondering. I can never remember exactly every combination either, but I do remember that Frame (Owl) is a lethal gene when homozygous, at least. :P

Here, Rose....I'll get back to the original intent:

This is the first time I've devoted any REAL time and energy to H&J. I was THE Shoco/WHG fan, and never could figure H&J out. I do have to say that I like the changes that have been made over here!

Anyway, I'm kind of excited about 3 of my colts:

I didn't breed him, but I am still proud of him: King of Cool

The kid I just snagged from Rose: Darkest Before Dawn

Then there's this shiney homebred filly that I just adore: Live On Stage

Out of over 500 foals, I think the foals I am most excited about, are one of my Nexus foals. One of my pasture foals that has W2/Frame. And another pasture foal that has a cool Sabino pattern, with brown, and a blue eyes. And my newest *Star* papered colt.

I mean, do you use a certain background for certain lines or generations maybe, or just the cool combinations? I started out using the dark backgrounds for my studs, but I've relaxed it a bit to the cool combos. :P

And, I'm working on an Ice 1/2 or 8/2 Nexus line.. I don't have a lot of homozygous Ice or Nexus so it's challenging, but that's a good thing. My Ice2 boy is getting old, too :( This is the only horse I bred who stayed intact with Ice 2 and Nexus both.

Everyone has bred some amazing horses this year!

As a few of you know, I've been trying to breed a brown colt from Wish that carries both his Sooty+ and his satin that also measures up to my benchmark and I haven't been successful up to this point. Well, he's here now! Best foal of 100, carrying homozygous brown, sooty+ and satin!

I changed my DP lines. I split them into light riding and draft. The last time I looked I have the only three light riding and the only draft homo DP on the server. All happen to be stallions. Voldemort is #12 in Liver Top Producing stallion, Sauron is #14, and Prodigious isn't on there yet but I suspect he will be soon. I hope I'm not the only one for to long. I'm guarding my lines pretty tight though and culling hard because I want them to be the best they can be.

@RoseFlute, I love the your brindle so neat. Also, I think GallantLiar and PursuitOfPoison are going to be awesome studs. PursuitOfPoison's white 3 markings are sweet!

@Confluence Farms, having a superior colt is great! He is very handsome. I love his matching markings on his hind-legs. Live on Stage has such a cute colored flaxen mane and tail.

@PaintsStables, 500 foals! I can only hope I will have enough barns to hold that many someday. :) I gotta say, Knights Seawall is gorgeous! I can't wait to see her grown up. And I love Domino Colored Seat's markings. They look so good on the grullo base.

@Abbey Road, I can't wait to see your Shire line. He looks stunning! Kagen Ryu looks like she will be an awesome broodmare for your new Nexus x Ice line. :)

@MoonAcre Stables, I loooove your chestnut(?) tobiano Nexus colt and your homozygous KP filly is gorgeous! I also like the Ice 8 on the black base, really neat.

@Cheers, congrats! I hope he does well for you as a stud.

@fj1482, silver black splash must be one of my weak points because I love Whiskey Oaks Markiplier and Mercury Rising. ShowMeTheLight has a awesome matching high white leg markings. Whiskey Oaks Waildyth is super cool with the different shades of brown and black. Is that because of sabino 3?

This beautiful lady is, I believe, my new future champion. I love these sabino patterns!

It's only a grullo splash with gray, but looks quite good.

Silver white gray wild bay. Cute!

Wild bay sabino splash frame. Looks simply, but nice.

A little bit weird looking wild bay with huge white factor and double sooty.

Heterozygous pearl...ugh, champagne? It's hidden because of gray gene. Another simply, but pretty.

Dun, roan, appaloosa, rabicano, so many genes, I don't even know if is it wild bay dun or something else.

The last two are probably some of the favorites I have ever bred. I just love the nexus on the grullo for some reason. And the Sabino 2 on the last gelding is just awesome!

@RoseFlute, thank you! I ended up gelding him because his mother papered yellow and he was AGA his sire. He is going to be a flashy show boy. :)

@Fj1482, I looove those big spots! She is lovely. And your dappled palomino is beautiful! I adore her coloring.

@Abbey Road, whoa! Your brindle draft mare is awesome and 4LLDOYw Queen Mab is gorgeous. I love her markings, especially the little dot on her hindleg and the small belly patch. Is she sooty+?

@Pine Stables, I have a major soft spot for sabino markings too. Your black gray mare is lovely. And the last warmblood is neat! I like the appaloosa, rabicano, tobiano, and all the rest of the markings!

@Salvistar, ohhh that sabino 3 draft is amazing and your grullo Nexus. I am a softy for silver black rabicano sabino so your last warmblood is definitely a favorite too.

@MoonAcre Stables, wow! I gotta say that I adore tobiano under normal circumstances yet Nexus makes tobiano even more fancy. Best of luck with breeding a similar sibling this season.
