Is anyone able to keep up a decent breeding program with just one pasture? I don't spend real money on this game... oh how I wish pastures could be bought with Ivs. I can see how having multiple pastures would really help with breeding, but are there any of you who do it with just the one? Do you just pick one gen per breeding season to get the pasture bonus and do the rest without it?ID: 16853

On server 1, I have just my primary pasture. (And before I got a pasture on sale here) I divide my mares up into non-boosted, boosted (Exeptionals) and 2nd gen. I put all the non-boosted mares in for about 1/3rd of a season, breed them at the end of that time. Then the boosted/Exeptional mares go in for 1/3 of the season before breeding. 2nd gens go in for the last third. When I get enough 3G mares of age, I'll put them in rotation (alternating which group doesn't get pasture bonus), but for now the 3Gs don't get a bonus because there are just a couple.#28036

I do pretty well with just my primary pasture. I just have to rotate my mares and studs in and out. I don't really worry about pasture bonus. It helps keep the number of foals I end up with down.

I have just one pasture on my free accounts. I just say pick 50 mares that I want to get the bonus. They stay in the pasture all month while I use the last remaining 10 spaces to move mares in and out. That way I get a full bonus on at least some mares. It is a little bit of a hassle having to scroll down and hit the x on each mare over and over. Much easier to hit the clear pasture button which I did one time when I meant to hit the remove foals button.

Thanks guys. I feel better now about not doing the pasture bonus. Every month I just throw all my mares in by generations and breed them all in one day, then paper and auction the foals as I can. It might not be the best but it'll have to work! Plus I won't be tempted to keep a ton of foals each season, like you said, Painted.ID: 16853

I use my pastures just to breed cheaper really - 500 vs 1000 - because right now I need all my mares to show to bring in more show bonus. I wouldn't worry about the pasture bonus really.

Thank goodness.. I literally breed by hand selecting each and every pair.. except for the like, ten mares in my pasture.. ha only the REALLY poor show horses go in my pasture, I'm greedy and want as much bonus as possible.. only 2k a day, but I'm working on it, slowly but surely.. lol =))Breeder of Quality Warmbloods and Show Horses

I keep my yellow/red foundation and RS mares in pasture to get the bonus. Most of my XP mares or lined mares stay out for straw and hand breeding and get rotated to the pasture if I don't have a specific plan for them. I do tend to want to keep allthefoals though which is not helpful! (Drowning in stallions lol)Fine appaloosa riding horses, Axiom blue and green, ice 1, ice 2, and ice 8

I have a few pastures, but I mostly keep foundations in them. My higher gens are very slim, but I don't mind. I usually get some new, shiny foundations that I prefer to play around with, so I don't mind not having alot of higher gens.

I have a small breeding pasture and the bigger one from my basic upgrade- it was worth the cash. I can then have everyone in the main and pull them in to the little one to breed them to who I want. I have more horses than pasture spaces though so only my blues and favorite reds get pasture bonus. The others go in to breed for just a minute as it's cheaper. It also means I can breed whenever I want (as long as I keep the breeding one empty) and I figured $6.38 is a small price to pay for such a good game :)
