Question on horse pictures

The horses in the head down position, are those older horses? I was doing a search to see what a possible breeding out come would look like and most if not all the horses I see are in a head down position.

Yup, those are an older version of horse. If they were refreshes they would get the updated colorful kind. I thought they were hj1's horses when I came on. :P

ok so because they are old horses is their color still viable or may that have changed too?

Man, that was very hard. I was being very specific in the color search for what I was looking for. Most where head down and Archived. The few that weren't their parents where. Makes me even more resolved to get this line started. Thanks Rose for the help there was a big color difference between the head down horses and the new head position.Thanked by 1RoseFlute

Normally when I do searches I end up with around 1000 or more horses to look through but for some reason trying to find a normal bay who is homo sty is not easy. I had like maybe 340 horses that made my list. That was without getting rid of the appaloosa's, splash and Ice genes. Then going through those to see who was a solid bay and carried DP. When I first started doing the search I don't know if I missed a gene or what but a lot of them looked purple and they all had their heads in the down position

Color generation for several colors has undergone many changes since the head position changed, so it's very possible you won't be able to get those colors.

That's fine with me. I don't want purple looking horses lol. I wanted to see if I could find a homo sty bay that was possible homo DP. I found at least one that I'm pretty certain was and he was gorgeous. Still looked like a bay but was super super dark.

Some of the darker, older buckskins still have that kind of purple look. When I find them, I refresh them, and they look more like RL dark buckskins now. It also varies from computer to computer for me. They still look that purple color on my laptop, but not on my tablet or phone.

Yeah... silver blacks used to be an odd greenish-black color.
Liver chestnut used to be a lovely dark red that I miss.
and chocolate DP palomino looked like this for a while :)

YEP! :D that one carries S+ though and not sty. I can tell by the dappling. I've been really training my eyes on this one so that I can start telling without testing. I like the dappling that seems to be connected to sty more because its more pronounced.
This girl I believe is only het DP but I have plans to breed her and a few other bay homo sty mares to my liver chestnut in hopes of getting some DPed bays -

Searching trying to find a unadulterated solid bay who is homo sty and carried even one DP is near impossible. I could have probably counted them on my fingers.

Here is one I haven't refreshed, even though she has the purplish look, it is unique.
Her brother was darker than she was but still had that unique look. I refreshed him, and he changed to this.

This was the funky purple color I was running into while trying to find a homo DP sty bay.
Not that its a horrible color, if you like that color but it was not what I was looking for if that was going to happen in my breeding program. -
No... bay has been revamped and is vastly improved. I adore the new shading on it.
The four-eyed horse was a glitch when the system was updating from the lowered head position to the higher.
