I'm new and want to get myself established. I'd like to get some good mares and start some good lines. Please let me know prices.

A good place to pick up foundation horses is at Foundation Rescue - all horses there are perfect foundations and a great place to start. Just type owner 13 in to the search facility. And welcome :) Also check out the auction today - lots of lovely horses in there.

@zevsofresstables a bit of both actually. I have a couple good horses from using others helpers. But that's about it.

Here's the search to the foundation rescue. I unclicked the geldings and spayed mares, so all that is showing up are the intact horses. There's 83 pages, so narrowing down your search is advised. Are you looking for a particular gender currently? What type of bone? Bone below 1.5 is a riding horse, bone between 1.5 and 2.5 is a warmblood, and bone above 2.5 is a draft. Any particular height?
I suggest fiddling around with the search to see what you can get. Note that many of the horses in here are probably not colour tested, but some will be. Mares have to be 4 years and older to breed, and can only breed once a year. A horse has a chance to age out of the game at 17 years old (when they turn 18)

@obsidionkitsune I'm not to picky on gender but I'd like to get some good colors so that if I breed people would like even if stats aren't good ya know? But so basic good horses won't be bad either so probably more mares and a couple good stallions.Thanked by 1AtA

It's a bad idea to only choose colours because people will buy them. Most people on here are over flowing with horses, and the only colours that really sell are either very difficult to get on a horse, or you have to gmt it on them. These genes include pearl, dp, snowflake, kp, gp, satin, genes bought with real money, and maybe some others. Pearl only pops up on foundations if they are RS. dp has a chance to pop up anywhere, so it's common enough that if you're trying to sell a colt with dp, unless they're a black chestnut the best place for them is the auction. snowflake has a chance to pop up on foundations too, but it has to be homozygous and the horse has to have a copy of lp for it to show, so very difficult to breed for. kp, gp and satin all have to be gmted on.
The good thing is you can auction any unwanted horse off for at least 2500hbs, which covers create price. If you breed a foal in the pasture and don't want it, and don't do any testing on it, that's a profit of 2000hbs (pasture breeding is 500 per mare).Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

I have quite a few foundation and second generation mares that I'd be happy to sell to you. If you'd like to get multiple I could give you a discount as well. All of them are fully tested and papered so you can see roughly how well they will show and breed. All of the mares have been bred before so you can look at the babies they've given me in the past and see if they are like what you are looking for.Red Rock Ranch

We can talk about prices. I can look at more later when I know what you are going for. Right now I need to get back out to the barn and sand a dragon. -
@wolfsgarden hope that little mare does well for you! Let me know if you are interested in anyone not listed for sale as well. I breed mostly for appaloosa.Fine appaloosa riding horses, Axiom blue and green, ice 1, ice 2, and ice 8

@obsidionkitsune so I've gathered that's why I'm looking for ones that would be good for that sort of thing

Also what does consistency have to do with anything?

Consistency has to do with showing. A consistent horse will perform rather predictably in shows, while an inconsistent horse can swing within a wider range of its base score in shows. They can still be good show horses. Some people only breed consistent horses, other people don't mind inconsistent breeding horses, and two consistent horses can still produce an inconsistent foal.Fine appaloosa riding horses, Axiom blue and green, ice 1, ice 2, and ice 8

Also, if a horse is very inconsistent (more than 3 pts +/- I think), it will be spayed by Strict Breeding Advice, so breeding consistent horses makes it easier to get intact foals, in the long run.
