Why didn't she pass?
-
Bought this mare off someone today. Dam has PT score of 9.5 and is out of 2 foundation horses. Sire is A papered PT grade of 11.1.
My mare, as you can see, is Blue papered with a PT of 10.6...she's better than her mother so why didn't she pass breeding inspection? :'( I thought fillies only had to be better than their mothers.
P.S. I noticed she had not been tested by the person who bred her, and I wasn't sure if there was a reason or not, so I tested her myself and now I'm kicking myself...

Inconsistency can influence whether a horse passes BA. I’m guessing that’s your problem.
-
Good job, though, Stella, on paying attention to all the different points that need to be looked at for breeding! You're picking things up really quickly!
-
If this is the horse you're talking about, the dam IS a foundation horse, from a hom silver hh, and so she'd be yellow papered.
There could be a chance that while your girl is blue, she's a lower blue than her father is an A. Her father is out of a star and red and it looks like he passed at least BA, which means he is an high A.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
She never stood a chance of passing. Sire is way to different in breeding ability than the dam. He him self is much worse than his sire. Her whole pedigree is down and backwards in quality. Thankfully she is young and should earn it back in the show ring for you but it is a good lesson in buying untested stock like that. Sorry. :(

Well - I suppose a flashy show pony can't hurt! Thanks for the help guys!
-
Stella I’m sorry I sold her as a show pony - if you’d like to sell her back that’s fine I’ll give you what you paid! Yes she’s a good pretty Show pony but I knew she wouldn’t pass ba-I usually leave notes In the comments section but hers either got deleted or I forgot :( I use these Horses for my show string line only! lmk I can find you a blue papered filly if you’d like :)
Edit: I left you two presents in my buddy chat :)Hidden Creek Farms # 31285

@HiddenCreek - I appreciate it! I wasn't mad, I just didn't quite understand the reason why behind it. Now I kind of understand the genes/generations/etc. a little better.
