Trivia 31 by Me
-
I turned 31 on January 17, but haven't been on as much in the last 2 weeks as I normally am. I have been trying to figure out a way to celebrate my birthday here on the game, and have cooked one up.
For 31 lucky players, yes 31 players, I will send you 2 proven show horses and 10,000 hbs!
*If your account is 2 months old, or younger, you get 3 proven show horses since hbs can not be sent to these young accounts.
I will give hints and clues to you all, you provide an answer, and the first correct answer to the clues gets the Prize. All clues and hints will somehow be horsey related since this is a horse genetics game. :) -
Clue #1 is from a movie.
A teenage girl is in an accident while riding horses with her friend. She has a leg amputated, and her horse suffers traumatic injuries and survives. The girl's mother finds a specialist to help get her daughter back on the horse she so loves.
Name the Movie and the horse. -
The Horse whisperer and pilgrim is the horseBreeding liver chestnut drafts that carry snowflake and kp.
Also breeder of mushroom, watercolour, chinchilla, splash m, wrong warp and thunderstruck.
Horses generally always available.
PM me for any enquiries. -
The Horse Whisperer, Pilgrim
I was just too slow -
The Horse Whisperer And Pilgrim
-
Well clue 1 did not take long, ha ha! Congrats to Crystal93! I will send your prizes shortly.
Clue #2 is another movie.
Script line is "King Kong don't have hands that big."
Tell me the gift Burt Reynolds' character is given with horses in the back ground, and the first thing he says.
I will give a extra hint if no one suggests an answer by 2 pm (game time). -
Clue #2 part B
The movie is Smokey and the Bandit II. -
Is it when he gets the car "son of trigger" and says "you shouldn't have done that"?#28036
-
You are correct Haltanny!
Clue #3 is from horse racing.
One of only 39 fillies to run this race (by that time), she took second place, and never left the track.
Name the filly, the race, and the year. -
Im guessing...
Eight Belles, Kentucky Derby, 2008 -
Correct Kenworth.
Clue #4 is a 1910-1930's thoroughbred race horse's pedigree.
One of his great Grand Dames is Cinderella sired by Tomahawk. He won the Belmont, and his owner was a "Riddle". -
Awesome, Thanks! :)
-
Seabiscuit
-
War admiral
-
man o war
-
Miniluv is spot on with her guess!
Clue #5 is from horse medicine.
This "drug" was created in the 1960's for human health, and has since been approved for use on horses. After this drug was legalized for horse use, there has only been one Triple Crown winner.
Give both names for this drug/medication. -
Yay!d Thank you. I though it would never let me put my guess. Third time was the charm. I was the kid in the class getting looked over going oooo me me pick me.
-
Is it Lasix/diuretic used in througherbred racing and other horse sports. Furosemide is the name I believe.
-
RKO has the answer that I was going for.
Clue #5 is from race horse history.
In 1965, he was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. In The Blood-Horse ranking of the top 100 thoroughbred champions of the 20th Century, he was ranked #61.
Who is this horse, and who was his trainer? -
That was the first one that can to mind Bute was the next one lol
-
Bute was created in 1949 to help humans with RA and gout. I did specify "drug was created in the 1960's". ;)
-
Omaha- James E. Fitzsimmons
-
Ooh! That was a close one, CWS gets it by a nose!
Clue #6 is related history of tack.
This woman influenced the creation of this tack item which has lost popularity; yet the style/item has retained a special niche in our modern world. She had 5 siblings, and 5 half siblings.
Who is this woman and her "creation"? -
The Side saddle created by Anne Of Bohemia.
-
That is right horsey2, well done!
Clue #7 is horse anatomy.
These are essential for leg motion, and they are cushions.
What two parts of leg "structure" do I mean? -
The frog and joints?
-
The coffin bone and short pastern?Always looking for Hidden Gates horses, sooty+ livers, snowflakes, Freaky Fridays, or satins!
-
Nope.
@PaintedDreams, I am looking for 2 very specific names of leg structure, not a joint.
Both of you have put forth good answers, they're just not what I am after. -
stifle and knee? lol Im just guessing
-
Cartilage?
-
Tendons and ligaments?Fine appaloosa riding horses, Axiom blue and green, ice 1, ice 2, and ice 8
-
Can we have second guesses? (if no one guesses correctly)Always looking for Hidden Gates horses, sooty+ livers, snowflakes, Freaky Fridays, or satins!
-
-
Cannon Bone?DivineDreams ~ 30908
Breeder of KitM, W10, W3, Livers, Chocolates, Brown, S+, Pearl, Macchiato, Nexus, and WaterColor! -
Navicular bone and plantar (aka digital) cushion?Fine appaloosa riding horses, Axiom blue and green, ice 1, ice 2, and ice 8
-
Frog and sole
-
@Zef, you are half correct in your guess. I imagine that the second one I am looking for is probably not considered a cushion by most. I am looking for navicular bone and proximal sesamoid bone.
Clue #8 is another tack item.
This piece is used on most Equids to keep tack/gear from sliding. Normally made of leather; it is made it two fashions. It was heavily used by the US Army, but has lost its use. It is mentioned several times in the book "Don Quixote".
What is this item and the two types/fashions it is made in? -
Breast plate for English and breast collar for western?
-
Thank you! That was a toughie :)Fine appaloosa riding horses, Axiom blue and green, ice 1, ice 2, and ice 8
-
Oh, I know this one! But I already won once, so I'll keep quiet. But I just made one in 1/24th scale as part of some US Army Cavalry accessories.#28036
-
Martingale? Standing martingale and running martingale are the two types.
-
English breastplate & western harness?Always looking for Hidden Gates horses, sooty+ livers, snowflakes, Freaky Fridays, or satins!
-
Breast plates, collars, and martingales are not what I am searching for.
@Haltanny, I still have plenty of trivia left, so answer if you to. :) -
Is it a crupper? There's stand-alone cruppers that can attach to saddles, and ones that can attach to breeching or a harness. I've never read Don Quixote so I have no idea what his horse wore!
-
Bravo Spectrum!
Clue #9 is horse breeds.
This horse is a cross breed that was started in the 1880's, and with the purpose of being a carriage horse. Powerful yet sleek muscles, large sloping shoulders with a wide, deep chest. They are typically 14.2 to 15.2 hands high.
What is this intelligent and curious horse? -
Pony Of The Americas.
