Auctioning VS Sell back - What Loses XP?
-
So was having a discussion in the beginners buddy chat, and thought to ask this here. I did look through the links list and didn't really find any proper answers.
First thing, what loses xp? I thought it was just selling back to the game, either by auction or by the sell back directly button. Any other ways?
Everyone knows that when you auction a horse, you get more money than by just selling back directly. So what are the bonuses to sell back to the game directly?Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
The reason why you lose xp when horse horse is purchased by the auction bidder in the auction is because it costs 2500 to create a horse and you get 2500 back. If you kept the XP then you could get unlimited free bonus stalls.

When you sell back directly your horse will not be put into the rescue (many don't want this) and you don't have to wait for an auction to run.

Do you lose XP just when you sell back to auction, or also when you sell back to the game directly?
-
I could be wrong but I always thought that breeding and creating earned you experience points towards stalls but auctioning cost you them so that people didn’t just go on create sprees and dump their horses once they’ve earned more stalls.
Horses naturally passing and selling directly to the game cost less than auctioning but leave the experience points in place.
I’m not sure if selling a horse effects experience or not as I don’t really track how my points go up or down as I rarely sell or auction any of my horses. -
Sorry, I thought I was clear that only when you get 2500 back to you lose xp. If you paid for that extra XP you get to keep it.

I always thought that selling directly back to the game for 1,000hbs made you lose exp too, so thanks for the clear up on that!Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

I did too. Thanks, Ammit, for making that clear.
As I sometimes comment to new players asking what they consider a silly or stupid question, I've been playing for years and still learn things about the game from time to time. I've probably seen that information before, but either remembered incorrectly or totally ignored it because with my hoarding habit, it didn't affect my playing very much.De gustibus non disputandum. Just to clarify - does the fantasy gene sell back option lose XP too, since it pays 2500 and not 1000?
-
Yes. I believe it tells you that as well.
-
Just checked. It says "You will be paid 2500 hb's for the sale of your horse, and lose one stall xp bonus point. "

Just a side question... Are you paid 2500 now? I thought it cost 250 hbs to sell through the auction? So you would be paid 2250?
-
You are paid 2500 in full.
