Bonus Stalls?
-
Are bonus stalls something that can go away? I worked really hard breeding to finally get my first one but then I checked today and I had lost it. Now I'm 125 xp away again!ID# 40515

Yup! If you sell a horse back to the game via the auction, you loose the exp that creating/breeding that horse gave you.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Haha that makes sense! I just auctioned off a bunch of horses :)
Thanks for letting me know! Maybe I'll get back up there someday.ID# 40515 -
It's all good, and you've got sharp eyes for noticing!Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

You earn more XP from creating and breeding more horses. So sooner or later you’ll get an extra stall for keeps. I believe after the 1st stall you get one after every other time you fill up the bar.
If you sell the horse on the forums or sales boards or auction (if a human buys it) or sell horse back to the game from the horses page or the horse ages out you can keep the xp you’ve earned. Because you’ve paid for it.
You only loose xp if you auction off horses and the auction bidder buys it since creating a horse is the same price the auction bidder pays you back.
Otherwise people could go on create sprees and create a ton of horses to get a new stall and then dump them in the auction and get all their money back and keep their stalls by cheating the system -
To expand a bit on Riley's first paragraph:
You have to breed or create 200 horses to earn an extra stall.
There's also a thing on your public stable page called "Member Grade" that doesn't really have any meaning for the game any longer. That goes up 1 for every 100 horses bred or created.
This is why the bar on the home page fills twice for each extra stall. The bar is a horse counter that is filled by 100 horses.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
