I recently hit 25,000/day in show bonus. I am (starting) to consider myself an established player. I still tend to overfill my boxes, and breed more than I have room for, but I don't think I'll ever grow old of that.

To celebrate, I would like to do a 2 part giveaway. The first part is for all players. I need ideas on what I could giveaway for part 2 to only younger players. I know I want to give away some show horses as its hard to find some right now, and maybe high PT foals. I really liked Cheer's giveaway, its very creative, but I don't want to be a copy cat and I don't think I have a big enough herd for that. The person with the best idea will get 3 straws from any stud of choice (I have kitm, DP, w8, Star*, cream, thunderstruck, among others.) Closed genes must have been bought when applicable. Additonally I will give two homo KP foundation eggs. I have an RH girl and a Draft girl. (Can provide links if desired).

Will keep this open as long as there's regular entries.

Congratulations! Can't wait until I hit that mile-marker as well. :D

Congrats! I just hit 10k the other day. I entered a giveaway once where the player had to guess a number and they got a grab bag of different straws from the host's studs. Random number of straws from random studs depending on the number you guessed. That was pretty cool, since I was newer at the time and was still looking for different genes. Only problem here is that non upgraded accounts wouldn't be able to enter.

You could do a guessing game of some sort so maybe something like this

Perhaps for the newer players post a horse thats not colour tested.. have them guess.. after a week test said horse and whoever is closest wins..

Whether you do it with a completly unknown colour horse (foundation with the tattoo removed so no indication what it is) or a lined horse where they can see what the parent carries and try to figure out what the foal was passed on..

Could be a good opportunity for newer players to learn about inheriting genes :)

I LOVE that idea Crystal! I have a stallion that throws 11PT+ babies with weird colors. The prize could be that foal and an older show horse

For new players you might create a series of questions to which they can find the answers by checking out the Genetics Guide. The winner would be the person who gives the most correct answers, ties to be decided by earliest posted. The prize would be an intact mare with the player's choice of one gene. Tying answers could get a show horse with a choice of one of the genes. Perhaps some established players would be willing to help with horses carrying genes you don't have.

LOL. I've had horses with their names changed to HUSG, and I always thought they were offering me hugs. I am willing to send virtual hugs though!

That's a good idea. Might be too fancy for me lol. But I would be willing to donate horses to a giveaway like that.

I forgot I actually had a suggestion, not just a silly comment...

Maybe do some type of art contest as your ongoing, new-player aide. Move all the horses you are willing to give away to a new "Muse" barn. Give them interesting names. People would peruse that barn, be "inspired" by the horse they choose to adopt, and write a short story/poem or make some artwork of it to get it.

For example, Here's a scribble of one of your showmares. Her name struck me and I felt like doodling. Perhaps others could be similarly inspired.

Please link applicable foundation for any closed genes. Otherwise I can use the straw, alter the foal then send it to you.

If you do make a charity barn like I suggested, you could partially populate it off the auctions. Spread around a bunch of 2600 bids on modestly pointed horses. You won't have any attachment to them, so trading them for a horsey limerick wouldn't be too bad. A ~200 point horse must seem like a drop in the bucket to established players, but that would be a major windfall for some people -I'm only starting out myself and I am surprised at some off the much older accounts I see around struggling.
