Which gene is this? (Image)

Colour tested. Not sure which gene is causing the cloudy effect? Does anyone know please? -
I think it's a heavy Varnish from the Appy. :) You haven't been on in a while, have you? Nice to see you back!

The link comes back to this thread, it could be gray?
-
It's appaloosa. I have a few like that. Some it's all over their body and not just their back.
-
Just a few of my Appaloosa girls with the same thing :)

Thanks everyone for your input. Link is fixed (not that its needed)
RoseFlute, I went over a month with no internet while moving house! It was hooooorrible! But yes, back now :) -
Wow! Could you at least use a library computer or wifi in places?
-
Cheers Abbey Road.
I could get onto FB on my phone, but everything else was too difficult to use. I had actually bought a prepaid wireless mobile broadband for while I was offline, but it didn't work in the entire month! Drove me bonkers.
But I shouldn't be moving anywhere.. probably ever again. My sister bought this house for me to rent from her, and my mum lives about 150metres away in the same gated complex, so I can be independent without being 'alone' in emergency situations. -
Thank you! Mum and I are BOTH enjoying living separately again!
-
VegemiteQueen, that sounds wonderful! I'm glad to see you back. :)
To anyone in general, I have a question about varnish, can varnish be bred out of your line? Or is it random? I doubt the later but I'm not to informed on the appaloosa genes yet.Thanked by 1VegemiteQueen -
Awesome! I hope you never have to move again. :D Unless a day comes when you want to move. :PThanked by 1VegemiteQueen

@ Ritsika: No, varnish can no longer be bred out of appaloosas, it's no longer a separate recordable gene in the game (if it ever was in real life). Ammit has said that all appaloosas are varnish, but the more pigment (I'm assuming that means the darker the color) the more quickly they will varnish.De gustibus non disputandum. I know Ammit said something about varnish a while ago, I think on HJ1, but not good at remembering much about what was said, except that I think varnish is almost automatic with the Appaloosa coloring, so most are going to have varnish. When we had the old genetic way of looking at the genes, we could breed it out, but it's not on the new genetics list (that I can tell, unless it's called something else now), so I doubt you can breed it out anymore.Thanked by 1SandycreekFarm

LESS pigment means more varnish.
Also you can breed for less varnish. All appies varnish eventually but some do far less then others and you can breed for that. It is easy to do.

Thanks, again, Ammit for clarifying that. I was afraid that my memory was failing me on the pigment issue.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

And thank you for clarifying Ammit. :)
