Why was my horse entered into this show?
-
On May 10th, my show horse SP Fire King (http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=184695) was entered into a Level A Local grade show . He scored 16 behind the leader.
His page shows that he is Level B World grade. Why did the game enter him into a Level A Local Grade show? He was pretty out-classed (literally)
He has leveled off. His score seems decent for the Level and Grade shown on his page. If I were to show him again, would he always be entered into the higher Level shows? -
Because that is the level he was on that date. Horses can go down levels too.

But I checked his show results within half an hour of entering him. I hand show my horses. This one was entered early and I was halfway through showing my horses when I went back to see if the first ones had been shown yet. This one had and had done poorly, so I looked more closely. My spreadsheet (I keep one to figure out when it's most advantageous to show) showed he was Level B World Grade and so did his HJ2 page (when I checked it just after the show), so I was confused that he was entered in the "wrong" show.
So a horse that has Leveled Off will still change levels? Also, I thought that levels changed at midnight on Sunday. Is the change more random?'
I love this game and want to know as much as I can about how it works. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. -
Horse who level off still train. Horses will get better their entire lives. Just far more slowly. There is multiple scripts that control if a horse moves down or up. The main one is Sunday night but there are others. He did so badly it autokicked him down a level.

I have noticed a number of my leveled off show horses that vary between one level/grade and another in their classes and have wondered why. Thanks, Ammit, for shedding some light on the behind the scenes reasons.
I have always loved the life-like uncertainty factor that you program into so many aspects of the game, especially in breeding and showing results. It keeps life interesting, if occasionally frustrating. Your ability to do this sort of complex, multi-factored programming amazes me. Thank you for the careful planning and creativity you bring to this game.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Ah--I understand now. Well, I'll rub his nose, give him a carrot and tell him it's okay--he did his best...
