I'm forcing myself to become a bit more strict on what I let through on my breeding lines so I will manually geld those that don't fit my criteria of what I'm looking for.
Then comes along this guy. He passed SBA but his PT is terrible: 9.40 Inconsistent. I manually gelded him and then ran Breeding Inspection. He's A Papered as a second gen from a C stallion and a (didn't know it until today) Red mare with no pasture bonus! I'm so mad at myself for not following my usual protocol with gelding (Performance, Breeding. Geld if C as a second gen, Geld if below 9.9 as a B, Didn't have a protocol for A papered second gens).

He'll stay in my show herd permanently because I have a feeling lightning won't strike twice. -
Oh bummer, he's so cute! Too bad I think its 250,000 to unalter them. Probably part of his PT problem was him being inconsistent. I've heard that drops the PT up to 0.5pts.
I've had that happen before, so normally don't cull breeding stock by PT (or even test breeding stock) as PT doesn't have any affect on the breeding ability. Although it is nice to see it rising generation by generation.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
I usually only cull by PT after culling by paper level just so that I don't have a drop in PT through a generation since the Colt Fairy usually thinks I'm their best friend and I have a hoarding problem heh.

Yea... I should do that.... I want to have 20-50 mares per stallion, but I think I have closer to 5 mares per stallion.... Oops.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
