All my keeper foundations passed SBA until recently
-
Every since joining in February, it has been my experience that all my foundation horses that passed BA have also passed SBA. I had also read others confirming that on the Forum. Today I was surprised when a foundie stud I was using accidentally got mixed in a crowd of foals I ran through SBA and he got snipped. I then tested it with a group of 10 foundie mares and the same thing happened--six passed BA, but when re-tested with SBA only four of those passed. Did I miss an announcement or am I just crazy, and this has always been the case I am just really lucky that all my former foundies have made SBA in the past?BREEDING DARKNESS (ok black liver but it sounds cooler)

I don't know why they would be any different from any other horses? I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a change.Thanked by 1duelinghawks

I've always had some mares pass BA then fail SBA.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.Thanked by 1duelinghawks

It does make sense but wow, I've been ultra lucky. And then I had read others comments in forum posts that if a foundie passes BA it will also pass SBA. Thank you for clearing that up!BREEDING DARKNESS (ok black liver but it sounds cooler)

I know if I run foundations through normal BA I get something like 80/20 pass/fail. SBA ends up being more like 60/40.Thanked by 1duelinghawks

SBA is intentionally stricter than BA, so it's not too strange if some that pass BA do not pass SBA. Ammit has said, more than once, that we should use BA, not SBA, if we have a foal that we really want to keep intact. Some will still be neutered, but the odds of staying intact are a bit better.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I've had a few get snipped by SBA over the year that I've been on. Usually they pass, though.

Not ment to close posts :p
Makes it harder for people to find the information.
You can add in brackets at the end of the original name solved/ended/sold, etc though :D
