New to the game and having probs ISO: Good Pairings For My RS Stud
-
Does anyone have any mares that would go good with my stud up for public breeding? Id really like to continue my breeding stock with one of his foals but all the mares ive bred him to that I owe turn up altered.
RS Fire Proof
-
The first one was a red papered mare, so a little harder to get intacts out of, and the second was probably just bad luck. I’d say try a few more times with yellow papered mares to see if you get any luck. :)
If you’d like to look through all my foundation mares to see if there are any you’d like to breed to, I have several I won’t be using this year. Let me know if you see any you like!

Which would be best in your opinion? Im not sure if he carries lethal genes or not either. Thank you so much for your help. -
RocknS, HERE is a link to a chart that shows lethal gene pairings on the Kit allele. That first mare might be a little risky (25% chance high lethal, 50% chance moderate risk, 25% chance safe cross), but the others should produce live foals. I have some RS up for brood as well HERE if any of them interest you, let me know and I can find a buddy chat to put them in at a reduced cost :)
Another thing to try to increase intact foals would be to use yellow-papered mares with a pasture bonus. Last season my yellow/C paired mares had a full pasture bonus and almost all were intact. :)ID# 43830

He carries sb1 and w2, both of which can potentially be lethal in the wrong combination (they have moderate risk with each other or hom http://hj2.huntandjump.com/faq.php#870). Your safest bet is either of the second two mares in terms of genetics, though Kelsey is one of the ones I am planning on breeding myself this year, actually, though, so she won’t be up for breeding. For the SPW, though, I actually collect them so if you want you can poke through all of them and find the perfect one if Lassie isn’t perfectly ideal, lol, and I’ll put any of them up for 1k brood for ya. :DISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

Mercurial flow is hom w20. Paired with your stud's w2 or sb1, you would get an almost all-white foal with tiny patches of color like this:
2g gout de facto
Lassie is het w20 so a 50-50 chance of that outcome. Tell Me The Time would give you a foal with a more visible base coat. It all depends on which you like best.

Thanks!!! @lallyhop I think i will go with tell me time if thats okay?

Sounds great! I’ve put her up in my chat for you. Just click on her here and you should be able to see she’s up for breeding. :)ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

Oh no :( He got snipped. 5500 late, I guess Im not good at this
-
It's ok RocknS! You can plan breeding, but there is still a lot of luck involved. Breeding with straws or without pasture bonus often results in snipped foals, so you aren't alone! Try using at least 10 days pasture bonus on a yellow-papered mare, and you should get more foals to pass. Pasture breeding is also cheaper, so even if foals don't pass, you will get the money back sending them to auction.ID# 43830

Wish me luck lol

Aw, shame! If you want to use more of my SPWs, I’m happy to put more up for you, but like HTRanch says, you might wanna try pasture breeding too. :)ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

All these are Perfect Foundations up for brood. These would be a perfect match for him, as a Fuel To The Fire is also a Perfect Foundation :)
