Woohoo! I hit 100k/day show bonus! So now let's have a Contest!
  • Go go Gadget Show Ponies! My herd of amazing money making pixel ponies has gotten me to 100,000 hbs a day in show bonus just 2 days before my 1 year HAJ anniversary! In celebration of these two milestones I will be giving away 1 one year basic upgrade and 5 chances at a guaranteed straw/breeding from a foundation or homebred stallion of your choice in my barn.

To enter: you must include your player ID in your entry form. All entries that do not include this will be disqualified. You may only win one prize, but if you do not have any upgrades you may enter for both prizes. Please state in your entry that you are entering to win the upgrade or a breeding/straw and the stallion of your choice, or that you are just entering for a breeding. Breedings/straws may only be used on mares of the same generation as the stallion you pick and are guaranteed only to produce an intact foal, not necessarily to pass on specific genes. Snipped foals may be kept as show ponies.

To win: in addition to the information above, please tell me what your favorite thing is about Spring and why. Yes, I know all you Northern hemisphere people are being bombarded by everything autumnal and pumpkin-spicy but down here it is Spring and I am loving all the new flowers and growth on our few deciduous trees coming back. Entries will be judged subjectively by me.

This contest ends at rollover at the end of September 10.

Available stallions are linked below. Please remember that you must own Ice 9 or 10 already to quality for a breeding to my Ice 9-10 stallions.

Foundation stallions--most are rank specials or perfect foundations, many are GMTd to include rare or Limited Edition genes.

  • And your favorite thing about Spring is, Rosie?
  • So my favorite thing about spring has to be the first warm day that you can finally drive your car with the windows down. (I don't know how the climate is where you are but it gets pretty chilly in the winter where I am :) )
I'm entering for a straw from Designed To Be Wild. My id is 3394. Thanks Cheers and congrats!
    Player id # 3394.

    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • Congrats Cheers.

My barn id is 14374 and I want to enter for the basic upgrade.

My favorite thing about spring is watching my mares foal out. Watching the little ones enjoy being alive. I also enjoy watching the new blooms and blossoms in spring time.

  • Yayy congratulations Cheers!

and I'd love to win a straw from your dark chocolate boy!

My favorite thing about spring is the flowers and new growth and how everything basically comes back to life! I also absolutely love all the BABIES. Especially foals. Last year I was waiting for my filly to be born and she was the highlight of my spring. No babies this past spring or for next spring but the thing I'm looking forward to most for next spring is my barn being finished! We just moved and I can finally have the kids at my house. However the barn most likely wont be up until spring but I cant wait. They're like a mile or two down the road from me right now so thats awesome but something I've dreamed for all my life was to have my horses in my backyard and its finally coming true so that is very exciting lol. And thennnn once the barn is up I can finally add a newbie to the herd so of course I cant wait for that. Fall is my favorite and its almost here but I'm definitely looking forward to spring!
    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • Ugh, totally forgot. :P Lemme go back tonight and edit so it's in the same place...
  • Congratulations, Cheers! I would like to enter for a straw from WolfgangAmadeus - I am 1486.

My favorite thing about spring is the renewal of the earth. When the red buds bloom, the bones of winter are being broken. Sleet is replaced by rain. The warmer breezes are new breaths of life, which is abounding everywhere. There will be a box of biddies in my laundry room under a light - my father did it every spring when I was a child, and I do it every spring as an adult, while my children marvel at the bits of fluff like I once did. The goats will have kids on the ground, full of vigor and trying out their pogo stick legs. The pig will have a handful of piglets running around the pasture with her, tussling and playing. The pony will be grumpy because I will not let him gorge on the fresh green grass, but instead make him eat - horrors - hay! The apples, pears, and plums flower and the bees get to work. The figs shoot out the most delicate leaves of a refreshing shade of green. Dead grass will be burned where the garden will be for the year, and then the soil tilled. I will end up walking barefoot over it for weeks, to decide when to go ahead and plant the seeds that will produce the food my family eats. I like every season for the changes it brings - summer has lightening bugs and all night fishing trips, fall has the changing leaves and college football (hey, I live in the S.E. U.S.!), and winter has bonfires and the occasional snowflake. But spring has life.

  • Congratulations! Super exciting! Good job Cheers! Good job show Ponies!

11524 - I'd like to enter for the basic upgrade, or a breeding from Shananigator.

I love spring for all the new possibilities. Everything is new, goats get let back into pasture with newborn kids by their sides; I can get the garden planted, see other farmers critters when I get farm calls to help their babies, I get to watch the birds and the emerging moths. I love spring because it is fun chaotic craziness, and yet peaceful at the same time, if that makes any seance... and that means the stream is running so I don't need to carry water buckets out from the house anymore. That is ALWAYS a plus! Lol

    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • I'm loving all of these descriptive and creative answers! All of these are awesome and remind me of some of my favorite things from Spring in the US. Down here, the snakes are back on the move and the birds are nesting (and defending their nests by swooping unsuspecting humans and dogs out for an innocent walk). My bottlebrush and grevillea trees are blossoming out and the possums are having massive territorial battles in and on the roof at night, which freaks out my dog. In another few weeks the frangipanis will start blooming and will keep going all summer, while the jacarandas will have their short bloom and students will avoid the trees because if one of the lavender blooms falls on your head, you fail all of your exams.

I love that a lot of you look forward to baby animals. I dread the start of kitten and puppy season and am currently spaying anything that gets close to me and holds still long enough (or that's the way it feels at least!).
  • Congrats! I would like to enter for a straw from Symphonic Gold DPecY
    ID - 4434
My absolute favorite part about spring is that I get to start breeding my rabbits again (I raise Mini Lops for show and Californians for meat). I'm also hoping to get more breeding stock in the spring. My goat also has babies in late spring that I raise as 4h/show goats.
For spring 2017 specifically, I will be graduating college with my Associates in Equine Studies, a CHA Riding Instructor Certification and a Certification in Equine Massage Therapy. And once I'm home, I will finally be purchasing my very first horse to start giving lessons (I've been riding for 8 years but I have never owned a horse of my own). I am so excited to be certified and to be able to live out my dream as an instructor.

  • I would enter, but I think spring is nasty; all wet and cold and rainy and just when you think the flowers are gonna bloom a tornado whips up and shreds the entire city leaving death and destruction in its path and a holstien gets tossed through the windshield and messes up the upholstry on your new SUV that you just got from the divorce settlement with your creepy ex who decided it would be a good thing to invest your life savings in a taco farm in Norway (Kast deg inn i en vegg!). So theres that.

  • A Hayes! So excited for your upcoming graduation! Yay!

Dena, that was a total bummer. I really hope what you've written there is hypothetical.....
  • All from the twisted imagination of yours truly!

My favorite part of spring is turning the furnace off, opening the windows, and letting in the fresh air after a winter of being cooped up in the house. The airinside the house tends to get stale after a long New York winter.
When spring arrives, you start to hear the bugs at night, see the birds return, and plant veggie gardens.

Entry - Breeding/Straw from Stallion of Choice
    Choice - Symphonic Gold DPecY

What I love about spring... the promise. I'm an anticipation person. I enjoy the long hours of dedication, the lengthy waits, and the - sometimes irritating - setbacks because they always make the end result that much more satisfying, and that is what spring is like here. Washington is full of rain and clouds then more rain, but sometimes we have that lucky day when the sun is warm, the air smells sweet from new buds, and all the creatures start to chatter excitedly. Spring babies are not too common but I love seeing all those pregnant bellies huge with the promise of an adorable little one soon to come. I love the mystery of a new plant in the garden; will it grow up pretty pink or bright yellow? And I love that the sun is almost gentle about shining because I can still wear a sweatshirt but have comfy shorts on. Spring is a lot of work but at the end of the day you can look back and know it was worth every last minute.
    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • I just wanted to say congratulations!! And I'm loving Spring creeping up on us, the horses losing their woolly coats everywhere and for me the best is the anticipation waiting for those new foals with their fuzzy wuzzy whiskers!! It was nearly warm enough today to be a shorts day!!
    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • Congratulations!
My favorite things about spring are not having to deal with all the ice in my animals water buckets/bowls.
I also love seeing that first hint of green after a long winter of drab whites, greys, and browns. It's fun to take a picture every week to compare the growth of the greenery.
Since I live on a farm, spring also means lots of baby animals being born. It's the cutest season of the year, with fluffy baby chicks cheeping, baby bunnies hopping
around and all the animals just seem so happy!
I'd like to enter for both please!

I'd like to enter for either the upgrade or a breeding to Mood Indigo KPErWLS

My favorite thing about spring is very different from most people's. While most everyone here has said for them spring represents new things, for me spring brings about endings. That's because I live in a college town and spring here starts out chaotic as students cram for finals while still trying to enjoy the last weeks of the semester. There are lots of events, celebrations, laughter, tears and sharing of memories. No longer a college kid, I still get to think back on my own college memories as I drive by the busy campus. And then, after the flurry of finals week and graduation, they're all gone. The town is deserted and only us permanent residents are left. And I am left to look forward to quiet times. And I do enjoy the quiet.

I would love a breeding to Beorn the bold or Mood Indigo or the upgrade please and thank you

Back when I was younger and my old mare was still with me my favorite part of spring was the very beginning when the weather started to warm up and I would spend an hour or more grooming all her shedding hair. When I was done she was slick and there would be hair all over the ground the birds would flock and take white hair to add to thier nests so for the rest of spring and into summer I would find random birds nest with white hair threaded throughout them.
    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • I remember the hours of grooming out my horses' winter coats! They would be such cute wooly ponies with their winter coats and then they look like such pitiful scarecrows while they're shedding out and patchy! And then suddenly one day you manage to get rid of all of that winter hair and you have this stunning sport horse again!
    Thanked by 1kintara
  • Congratulations!
    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • Ah yes thats another favorite thing about spring. I have miniatures (and a quarter horse but minis are my breed lol) and a lot of them don't shed out as fast as full sized horses and they also just have SO much hair that its so hot before they lose it themselves and some of them dont even lose all of it entirely either. So one of my very favorite parts of the year is body clipping my yaks into pretty horses again lol
    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • Bump! Closing at rollover tonight.
  • Not going to enter but I love spring because of the babies also. I used to raise cattle and still have goats. The nigerian dwarf kids are so much fun:-)
    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • ID: 14101. Congratulations on your 100k/day! I'm entering to win an upgrade. The thing I love the most about spring is the blooming flowers and the amount of rain we get to settle the pollen down (pollen upsets my allergies).
    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • Ok everyone! I loved reading all of your entries and I've gone back through them all to pick some winners!

Wildland Acres, you've won the Basic Upgrade for 1 Year. In a little while I will send you some enough hbs to be able to go to My IV Manager and buy IVs to purchase your upgrade.

The rest of you have won a straw/breeding from the stallion of your choice. I will send out straws shortly. Please PM me with a link to your foals if you need a replacement straw. Good luck!

A Hayes--I'm super thrilled about your upcoming graduation! Your answer made me think back to my own graduation a few years ago, and I know how excited you are, and also how nervous about your transition to "real" life. I'm sending you a straw for Symphonic Gold.

Breezey11--I came home from work today and immediately opened all the windows in the house. We are still getting chilly enough to close them again at night but we aren't far from 24/7 open windows and ceiling fans! Look out for your straw from Designed To Be Wild.

Ripshin--your litany of expected farm babies makes me smile. I hope everybody has smooth winter pregnancies and you get to enjoy lots of wriggly bundles of joy in a few months! I will send you a straw for Wolfgang Amadeus.

Rits--your anticipation at seeing how a mystery plant might bloom out spoke to me. We rent our house and have moved pretty much yearly for the last 5 years. So I have a lot of experience with surprise blooms and mystery plants! Made me laugh. You will also find a straw for Symphonic Gold.

Double Horseshoe--your description of grooming your old mare to sleek summer perfection and finding birds nests lined with her wooly winter fur made me very happy. Since you aren't upgraded, I will add you to my buddy list. Message me and we can set up a time for me to get Beorn or Indigo up for you to breed to via Private Treaty. Please remember there is a pretty full on time difference between me and game time, so it may take a couple of days to set that up.

    Thanks everyone for entering!
