Black Chinchilla? How did this happen?
  • I don't get why she is black?

    Can someone please explain this?
I love that she's odd just want to know if I can keep it going.
  • Chinchilla causes the red base genes to white out. So, since they don’t have any agouti genes, there is nothing to white out. Also, since the extension overrides the chestnut gene, there is no visible red from that to white out either. So they just look black with a slight reddish tint to the eyes (at least they look a little tinted).
  • It's her EE so you can definitely keep it going as long as whoever you pair her to is EE like the boy you posted as well. Blacks don't express the chin gene without the silver but still carry it and can genetest for it
God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.

  • Cool thanks didn't even think of that.
