ISO Snowcap Warmbloods and Drafts
-
Hello! I am in search of intact, consistent, evenly bred, non-roan snowCAP (not snowflake) Appaloosa warmbloods and drafts. A snowcap has a blanket on the hindquarters (or more) but instead of spots, the bum is all white. Mares get preference but I would like a great stallion, too.
I prefer 2G-4G but will consider older generations that are evenly bred. No grey, please.
Quality Foundation level horses are fine, too, but I'm not sure that snowcap expresses on foundations very often.
Thank you for reading! -

Thank you very much! These mares will be wonderful additions to my draft herd.
Still seeking more snowcap horses (draft or warmblood) like these beauties if anyone else has any! -

Is this too much?

Best friend, I would love to buy Another Hide Out!
HUSGirl, I am very interested in buying the Appy and Splash filly. Since she's warmblood herself, I'll jut cross her on Draft stallions to keep her foals big. I don't mind if riding horse is in the pedigree. I'm going to think about Zodiac, as he's very handsome! -
I had a riding horse stallion on there I took off, that's what I meant. But that makes sense, I love the drafts! Does 3k work for the filly?
I bought zodiac a while ago, but I just don't like him as much as I thought I would, and hopefully before too long my own lines will be up to 3G.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
Ah, okay : ) Yes, 3k sounds great to me! I have a RH snowcap stud I use for making obnoxiously loud show ponies, and he throws great color, but his head is just too... squished.
-
Yeah, I have an uneven appaloosa stud I do the same thing with! He normally throws like 10.6 PT, so it works good. I will put up the mare now, and PM me if you decide to grab Zodiac. It would be nice if he was used, but now he is helping with my show bonus!Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.Thanked by 1Riata

PM me for any enquiries. -
Are you still looking for these? From what I've seen, the snowcap appaloosas are always homozygous(LpLp). I can't find any information that officially verifies that, but I used to play HJ years ago and the name of the appaloosa pattern used to show up in a horse's phenotype (so your horse would be a snowcap appaloosa, a few spot appaloosa, a leopard appaloosa, etc.) I am nearly positive that back then, snowcaps and few spots were always LpLp, leopards and blankets were always Lplp, and appaloosas that had minimal or no visible appy patterning besides the spotted muzzle or some varnishing could be either LpLp or Lplp.
I have a snowcap foundation stallion from the True breeding brown appaloosa HH that I am considering selling. I really like him but I just haven't used him as much as some of my other foundation studs. Let me know if you are interested in him. He is also up for public breeding now.

@WindwardFarm that is a super interesting observation! It made me realize that the only four snowcaps I have are in fact LlpLlp! I took a quick look into the genetics guide and while it does not explicitly say what you said, the example pictures all say only "Appaloosa" except for the two snowcap examples, which both say "hz appaloosa", so I definitely think you're right!
