GMT'ing question
  • I just got to the point where I can buy one copy of Macchiato, and I just want to make sure I get it right because I do not want to lose my ten gmts lol! I had the GMT page up and had it all ready to go with the horse I want, so do I hit the first sp button or the second one? I haven't done any GMTing before.

  • Either would be fine I imagine.
They you still have one copy.
It would show up as spM sp for the left side or sp spM for the right :)

  • The two options on the page show what the horse already has. You select one of those to change to a new allele. So if your horse was already het for Spalsh it would show one SpS and one Sp. You could pick either one to then change to SpM.

This is the horse I want to GMT. I tried to change the SpS to macchiato but it wanted to give me just Sp instead of SpM.

Also, another question. Does the horse have to already have splash? Thanks for your help :)

  • You can't add a new gene to a second generation unless one of the parents had it. You'll need to find a foundation horse 4 years old or under and unbred.
    Thanked by 1Cheers
  • No, the horse will not already have to have splash. But it will have to be a foundation 4 years or younger with no living offspring!

For lined foals you can only add in a gene they missed from a parent. So for instance, for your colt above you could have decided to add the Dun he missed from his mom, or take away the cream he got from his dad to make him a liver chestnut instead of a chocolate palomino. You can't decide to add in W1 or black though, because neither parent has that gene to pass on.
  • Also, splash and macchiato work together so you may want to keep the copy of splash that your foal already has!

    Prices are almost always negotiable.
  • And for lined foals, it only costs 1 gmt to add on a missing gene ^^ So if you had a baby who missed, let's say dp from one parent but got it from the other, you could add dp on for only 1 gmt.

  • what are gmt's and how do we get them?
  • Wendolyne--

You can acquire GMTs two ways. The first is to buy them for real money (US dollars) through a PayPal account. To do this go to Upgrades and Extras on the left, click Upgrade with real money and then scroll down. You will see GMTs close to the bottom. They are 25% off right now but they are still pretty pricey.

The other way is to go back to Upgrades and Extras and click Upgrade with Game Money. There you can click to buy IVs (Investment Vouchers) for 12500 hbs each. Then go to IV Shopping and the second item is to buy GMTs for 20 IVs each.

If you are thinking about adding Machiato to one of your horses, it is significantly cheaper to buy the gene directly from Ammit with real money than it is to buy it with GMTs. In that case the price quoted is again in US dollars and the transaction is done through PayPal.
