Are you ready? I got another RS HH, and you can have one too.
This is a competition to see who will be the lucky winner of a Brindle Break Out. Please answer all the questions. Some have more than 1 possibility, so choose wisely. 16 hours to answer ....
1) Turkmenistan
2) Infusions of Norman and Arabian blood in 1822
3) Bred in Great Britain
4) Used for trail riding
5) Used is team penning
6) Used by Olympic Riders
7) The most distinctive Ears
8) Full Leopard spotted coat -
Ooo I love these! Thank you for putting one together. Have no idea whether I'm on the right track, but here we go:
1) Akhal-Teke
2) Andalusian
3) Could be many ... Thoroughbred?
4) Tennessee Walking Horse
5) Quarter Horse
6) Hanoverian
7) Marwari
8) Knabstrupper
ID: 26294 -
I'm assuming the answers to all the questions are different horse breeds? Because you use cattle for team penning but I'm guessing that's not the answer you're looking for lol.
-
@Windward, yes these are all Horse based questions. :) No, I am not looking for cattle as the answer to Team Penning, hahaha.
-
1) Akhal-Teke
2) Andalusian
Okay i know there are 16 horse breeds from England :D I do not look them up on wiki either! i try to study breeds ;)
3) Thoroughbred,Cleveland Bay (originated in England during the 17th century, Dales pony, Dartmoor pony,Hackney Horse & Pony( both developed in Great Britain as a carriage horse),New Forest pony,Norfolk Trotter,Shire horse,Suffolk Punch,
4) Arabians,most gaited horses,Quarter horses.
5) Quarter horses
6) Anglo-Arabian? i mean the last time i watched some olympic riders had some. & most of the others were warmbloods :D
7) Marwari & Kathiawari (It is closely related to the Marwari)
8) Sugarbush draft,knabstrupper,Appaloosa.
Always Looking for FF's and Liver Pearl's -
1) Turkmenistan
Akhal-Teke, Iomud, Turkoman Horse (now extinct)
2) Infusions of Norman and Arabian blood in 1822
Andalusian/PRE
3) Bred in Great Britain
There are so many! But my favourites are the Welsh Mountain pony (esp section As) and the Exmoor.
4) Used for trail riding
Anything that's strong, clever and has a decent temperament haha! I have friends in NZ who swear by Appaloosas (breed not colour).
5) Used is team penning
Quarter Horses
6) Used by Olympic Riders
For my discipline- Dressage- they're all warmblood with the odd Gelderlander. Hannoverians, Oldenburgs and Westphalians are at the forefront although the British warmblood is catching up slowly.
7) The most distinctive Ears
Marwari
8) Full Leopard spotted coat
Knabstrupper (also good for dressage!) -
1) Akhal-Teke
2) Andalusian
3) Shetland Pony, Cleveland Bay, Eriskay, Suffolk Punch etc
4) Quarter Horse
5) Stock horse: quarter horse, australian stock horse, appaloosa etc
6) Warmbloods
7) Marwari
8) Knabstrupper -
1) Akhal-Teke
2) Pura Raza Española/Andalusian
3) Cleveland Bay, Dales, Fell, Welsh Mountain (A-C) Pony & Welsh (D) Cob , Shetland, Shire, Suffolk Punch, Clydesdale, Highland, Eriskay (very rare Scottish breed), Hackney horse & pony, Thoroughbred, Fell, New Forest, Dartmoor, British/English Spotted Pony (Rare!), Lundy Pony (less than 100yrs old), Gypsy Cob (which can be called assorted other things globally), Anglo-Arab (mixed origin and unusual as can be cross or pure bred), (Northern Ireland is GB so can also include Irish Cob, Connemara, Irish Draft, Irish Hunter). There's a number of extinct breeds too... btw I'm from UK
4) The UK has hacking as opposed to trail riding, but for many its down to the individual rider what sort horse they have for pleasure riding. For commercial ventures I've seen, Mustang (Brumby in Australia), Fresian, Cob, Appaloosa or Paint, Quarterhorse, Saddlehorse breeds all advertised as available to use
5) When I think of "cowboy" type events I think Quarterhorse or Stock Horse type, which can be a whole mix of things, depending upon location.
6) The country and discipline can effect which breed is used, though the assorted Warmblood (Dutch, Danish, German, Finnish, Belgian etc) or Sport Horse (Irish, KWPN etc) breeds are very popular at Olympic level. Some others use PRE, Hanoverian, Trakehner or Thoroughbred.
7) Marwari
