Best Way to Breed for Liver

What are the best combinations to produce liver?

Livers or chocolate paliminos or black buckskin. I have a few 2g studs that will produce livers for you. Cross with chestnut for livers.

I'd say the best combinations would be Hz sooty and one or two DP, because then if you test a dark chestnut, you know that if it shows up Hz sooty, it doesn't have DP. Since DP isn't really testable, though it will be signified in some color names like Liver Chestnut and Chocolate Palomino, I'd say the best way to do it is have plenty of sooty so you know where you stand. :)Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms -
If you want some liver foals, try breeding some foundation hom sooty mares (preferably ee but Ee could also work) to a Freaky Friday stud (preferably ee as well). Freaky Fridays are hom DP and hom sooty so if you breed one to a hom sooty foundation mare your foal is guaranteed to be hom sooty and at least het DP (possible hom DP if your mare also has DP). A red based horse only needs 3 darkening genes in order to be liver or chocolate pally so all your resulting foals will be liver/chocolate as long as they are ee.
